⁠@@darladoon Dungeon Synth did in fact emerge around the early 90s. Some of the earliest releases are from 1991-93 and they’re from Jim Kirkwood, Necrophorus, Mortiis, etc. Though I’m not sure if I’d call this DS (maybe proto-DS).

I think this is just 90s new wave electronic music, might have influenced dungeon synth. Dungeon synth is an offspring of black metal.
