The things with Danila is that he just recently, ish, learned the majority of english..that's why he takes his time talking..trying to convey words in english vs. russian. He's a great actor

@@blackdiamondmare5519 yeh i agree- they also messed up a lot with the plot- for example dimitri doesn’t let rose use a silver stake until the third book I think however he lets her use it in the film. Rose also doesn’t let anybody know about hers and dimitris relationship until the end of the third book however she tells Natalie in the film. Ik films are always slightly different to the book but the differences between them are a bit to extreme.

I just love the negative comments! It makes me laugh, hard. And definitely all those comments about bad actors choice, and I mostly see the ones over the choice of Dimitri. You know guys, Danila is the best RUSSIAN actor to play for Dimitri, almost as old and he still has his Russian accent, and that's what was in the books. And yeah, maybe you all wanted that Ben-- (something) but think about it, they need a Russian actor.

My only complaint about this movie is they picked the wrong director and script writer. As a reader of the books, I was fairly disappointed with this adaptation. It was lacking that needed impact. I'm pleased with the cast for the most part.. I just hate how one of my favorite book series is being handled poorly. People who haven't read the books are compairing this series to Twilight and it frustrates me so much. These two series share one or two things and that's it. VA is a much more dark and mature series and now people who haven't read the books want nothing to do with them after watching this film. I think another issue is that this film had a low budget and the studio that produced this film is trying to earn money to make a second movie covering Frostbite.. the official VAmovie twitter page said they had a big surprise coming up so it's probably the Frostbite announcement.

The movie was great. They did a wonderful job choosing the characters. Even Dimitri (Danila) When he was being interveiwed I saw that smile on his face at 1:04 to 1:08. I loved the movie, the books, and the actors. It was a great movie.

I think Zoey Deutch is really similar to what Richelle Mead described Rose as and Danila Kozlovsky is similar, but not extremely so. The height in general shouldn't be held against them for the whole movie actually because Moroi are described as inhumanly skinny and tall and pretty. Also Danila seems to be pretty close to Dimitri, but there hasn't been much of him in any commercials or interviews (mainly because he's actually Rusian). I wouldn't be too judgmental yet since the movie hasn't even hit theaters. And it's important to keep in mind that - sadly - there can never be an exact representation, partially because everyone has a different image, the book is from the perspective of Rose, and there needs to be some background information for people who haven't read the book. Just keep an open mind, but don't shoot down something from the few clips and trailers that have been released. Ugh I'm praying so hard this will be right though!!!!

B/c he is the PERFECT Dimitri I mean okay he could bit more scruffy. But what does it matter! Robert Pattenson wasn't the perfect Edward in Twilight but it worked didn't it? you always going to have actors who don't fit the profile of what we think of the characters in the book. So just deal with it. If you like Dimitri great if not do to team Aiden b/c frankly I LOVE this Dimitri!

Why is everyone complaining so much?! I am so exited to finally see a beautiful cast to portray the characters of my favourite series! Of course there are a some changes from the books, but it is impossible to always fit everyone's imagination. Just rewatched this movie and the sad thing is the sequel was in the making but cancelled because they couldn’t find financial support. Данила Козловский/Danila Kozlovsky is one of the best Russian male actors. It pains me that when they in Hollywood make a movie with a elite Russian actor, it doesn’t go well. He is very attractive with short hair, but I mean he doesn’t look bad at all with long either. I wonder if they could restart the sequel with same cast. That would be so cool.

Everyone's flipping out because Mark Waters (director of Mean Girls) directed VA. Hate to break this to you all, but Waters has directed things OTHER than Mean Girls, and it's one of the few realistic films he did direct. He does mostly murders and comedies and not all of his films are that bad (with the exception of Spiderwick Chronicles). But please, calm yourselves and wait until you see the movie. Same goes for Danila and the rest of the cast. Just wait, it may surprise you.

Can't wait to go to the cinema, pay and support this movie!!! The problem is that people who do love the books don't even show up to the screening and that's why the movies fail. We have to stay united in our love towards this franchise and go and see the movie BEFORE we judge. We got barely 0,05% from the film with these clips. How can you judge based on only that??? HOW??? Maybe Rose is more sassy on screen. Maybe Lisa is more soft and even more fragile on screen. Maybe Ozera is even hotter... if that's possible. i'm going to wait to give my opinion after the seeing the film. because everyone has their idea of the perfect cast, and when that doesn't happen of course people get upset. the books were great, but this is the MOVIE, they have to tell things differently to appeal to fans of the book and first time viewers. Danila Koslovsky as Dimitri to me, looks like the character and has the bonus of the russian lineage. so gonna give him a chance since, we haven't actually seen him in pieces of the film yet, just tiny glimpses in the the trailer! jury is out til we see the movie!

Just saw this film last night and OMG! I have just fallen in love with Danila! When it comes to which race I like guys from Russian doesn't really come into, not that I am sure there are not nice Russians out there (Danila is proof of that) but my top 5 exotic locations for guys to come from hasn't got Russian there but now...I think I have a new appreciation for Russians, Danila has just made me see the Russians in a whole new light and that accent...OH GOD! I could listen to him happily read the phone book! XD

i Love the series (books), the darkness of the story is what drew me to it, along with its elements of humour, love and friendship. From watching the trailers, behind the scenes, interviews etc it is obvious the writers and director have captured many of these themes... i will never view a book to movie adaptation expecting to see my imagination on screen. The movie is based off the book, they keep themes and main plot twists and i feel this will be achieved by both cast and crew, obviously they have lightened up many aspects, as to be expected by the history of the director. So please stop hating on the cast, director, writer and the rest of the crew... this movie is being made due to the success of the books written by a talented author, although the movie may not be what you expected, just appreciate the talent of those involved with the movie and give them the same respect that you give to Richelle Mead xx
