Sir, just tell me one thing..why the number of bars in column that is 12 is fixed for every column??? Even I have tried it in many structures but same result...it is showing same 12 bars for column ..why so???

when you define new column section, the default proprieties of column reinforcement are 5 bars on the first side and 3 bars on the other side. so you need to change them to the desired number of bars

I have been trying to find out the way to group the beams and columns where some rules can be applied. Is there any way you can do that is etabs or csi detail. in csi detail there is an option called auto group but i cant find any table showing the groups csidetail created.

@@nirajghodke If you are using CSI Etabs 17 with crack versiion I amafraid CSI detailing won't work. I too had the same problem therefore I downloaded and installed CSI Etabs 16. It has all such options. Don't go for evaluation version of Etabs 18 as CSI detailing doesn't support Etabs 18.

Hello, I am trying to do a simple portal frame analysis in ETABS but with non-linear link elements at beam-column and column-base joints. I am using calibrated Pivot hysteretic model. My load input is to Japanese standard and is given in terms of rotation (radians) per load cycle. How can I model this, specifically, 1) how to apply the rotational load, and 2)how to apply the link elements? Thank you.

After detailing of either columns or beams, they just specify the bars as A,B.....c. How will u know if it's the maximum bar size or the preferred bar size or the minimum. Because in the settings, under Items A,B......G, are 3 different bars, which are the minimum, preferred or maximum. Thanks for the tutorial

etabs will chow your bean columns in red if they fail. Then you just increase the size.
