I actually modded my gamesir X2 with a Peltier and heatsink. The only difference is I wired an 18650 battery to run it so it would be totally cordless after charging. It works quite well 😊

This is a gimmick. There’s no TIM between the cooler and phone and the tiny heatsink will saturate within minutes. You’re just wasting power.

I actually used a Peltier cooler on a Pi 3b back in the day. It worked ok I guess, but I remember going back to air after awhile. Could've been the cheap Peltier cooler plate I purchased from overseas though. The small ones just didn't have the performance of the larger plates.

@Juuggy
@Juuggy Жыл бұрын
Having a cooler is not only beneficial to the performance, but also the battery life. When phone batteries get hot, they die quicker. And the more they die, the worse the battery gets over the years. Having a cooler will keep your battery fresh for years to come. That's well worth it imo, even if other phone controllers are technically better

Bought it for $74 and it's awesome. My phone no longer heats up playing Genshin for hours. The mapping is the best compared to other 3rd party and I prefer microswitch for R2 and L2 button (because I only play RPG games and not FPS or racing). But my unit is not a prefect one, the analog stick on the right is drifting sometime. Not always but it has its moment. I want to tear it down so I can blow some air on the analog part but there is still no teardown video for X3 so I'm not gonna take a risk to open up this controller

my friend bought this one for me (or so he said .. he presented it to me .. and then kept using it himself) - but i find it a bit heavy to be honest. The peltier pad is useless because it needs a separate powersource .. the controls are good, but not as good as my older Betop G3. the main reason for the X3 on the Gamesir would be that they managed to put the usb-c connector to the correct side.

This ^ I don't know why none of these controllers include any sort of USB hub... A lot of them have USB-C pass through charging, but not a USB hub to allow you to use dongles or anything... Having a built in headphone jack would be nice and a proper USB-C hub would be even better.

This is not the way a peltier device is meant to be used. It’s a gimmick. The tiny heat sink in there will get heat soaked within minutes and there is no thermal interface material between the cooling side and the phone. It’s horribly inefficient.

I like that the controller has a built-in cooler but it needs a headphone jack since the backbone controller has a charging port and a headphone jack. All my android phones have a headphone jack but the controller needs to have a headphone jack since they all have a charging port plus having a headphone jack has 0 latency when playing games.

That controller might be useful on devices that can emulate ps2, gamecube/wii, 3ds when cool until it reaches its thermal throttling threshold in which it becomes unplayable (ie flagship processors from 2019-2020 that is using mali gpus and snapdragon 845-855 devices). Though I don't it's enough for exynos 990.

@mouth7137
@mouth7137 Жыл бұрын
@@archie7288 There are processors that can emulate most 3d ps2/gamecube games at 100 percent speed when used at full power but becomes unplayable if they reach the thermal thermal throttling threshold (45-50 degress celsius). The controller having a cooler built in will prevent them from reaching those temperatures allowing the processors to run at full power (thus making their games playable) without the user being bound to an electric fan or air conditioned room.

@@mouth7137 the x3 are worsted than x2 pro, the cooler aren't really helpful at all, it doesn't makes your phone cooler its almost like gimmick, its better u buy conventional cooler on the market rather than using this, its also the cooler connect into separated usb power so only work if you playin inside house, the button on x3 also not as good as x2 pro also the L2/R2 doesn't had acceleration button no more, the x2 pro also had black colours and more solid design quality overall, your correct any phone outside gaming phone who aren't using active cooling they're gonna drop their performance to prevent display and others part isn't quickly damaged, im also playin ps2/wii/nintendo switch on my xperia, its a warm but okay without cooler its still run fine stable
