I've owned a 93' Cobra and 98'. I've had a 99' gsx eclipse etc, but from the moment I bought my 99' vogue silver integra gsr I've been in absolute love with it. She battled the back mountain roads with me without even a hint of over steer (mind it does have fresh Dunlop dz102 on it) but it's been unlike any car I've ever owned. yes she doesn't have the power of most of my other cars but that's not the point. The overall way these cars drive is just incredible. When I saw that you had bought one I was instantly in love with it...and then bang! You showed that she only has 100k on the odometer! what a gem you have man. I hope you never sell it and restore it (the right way) which I'm sure you will ;) glad to see you got it after waiting all that time..I waited from the age of 6-18 for my 93' cobra but it was worth it. anyway as an idea for a video when you can get to it.. my integra has rust in the exact same spots as yours I would be curious as to how you would go about fixing it in a way that's a little more permanent than fiber glass or something of that nature. reason I say this is because I'm about to buy another one that has rust in the same spot and I plain on keeping these cars for a long time. sorry for the long rambling rant. You do great work. Thank you.

Eric, you may or may not know, but one of the main contributors to the typical Honda cancer (rust) is those rubber quarter panel trim pieces in the wheel well. Those protectors, I assume, are there for either a finishing look or to prevent the tire from contacting the quarter panel flange (even though with the natural negative camber when the suspension compresses it would never be able to contact with stock wheels). The problem is the trim/protectors collect moisture and dirt and such and promotes the rusting in those areas. If they are removed all together or at least taken off and cleaned once in a while, this would either stop or severely prohibit the formation of the rust. Love both of your channels by the way. As a previous Honda technician, its great to see all of the repairs that I have once done before. Keep up the good work, and sweet GSR!

So many cars I could say this about. The gsr, 99-00 civic si, del sol vtec, s2000, and type r. Honda sure doesn't make them like they used to. I snagged a 95 gsr recently just to have my hands on one before they're all gone.

Eric, congratulations on your 2001 Integra GSR purchase. It's really cool to see a seasoned technician appreciate how reliable and fun these cars can be. I purchased my 01 GSR 3 years ago (after waiting about 9 years for the right GSR) and I'm never letting her go. She's got 93k original miles and I love it. She's garage kept and only see's sunny days. Cant wait for future videos with this car. PS - my Integra also has the rear latch problem so that would be a cool repair video for EricTheCarGuy, enjoy and congratulations!

I loved my 2001 Milano Red GSR. I actually have the original radio that i pulled out when the car had 10 miles on it.The best mod i ever did was install a toggle switch in one of the empty switch bays near the armrest to manually control the power antenna. Radio signals are so strong now you can get full reception with it down and preventing the bent antenna syndrome these cars suffered from.

I've seen those G2 teal ones too, certainly not my bag, heh.I'm in N.H., I've managed to keep my own rust issues pretty well under control by not driving it in the winter unless the roads are clear/dry and everything's just frozen to the ground. Just started coming in at the front lower point of the rear wells, and where it meets the rear bumper a few years back, much less than your '01 has atm. Had what little was there fixed 3 years back on the pass side while some little accident (not my fault!) damage was getting fixed at the same time.

Whatever you do, don't ever modify it and install a factory head unit to make it basically 100 percent stock.

The 01' GSR is the "holy grail" for ricer-type Honda fanboys. Every Honda civic "kid" I've talked to all have plans to upgrade to the GSR (if not the whole car at least its B18 engine). I think that's the reason for such a high resale value on Hondas & Acuras of this era. It's the last year of the body style so one would expect all the kinks to be worked out. So what you have is a female owned, well maintained, low mileage of the "holy grail" model. I know kids who would cream themselves for the opportunity to pay twice what he paid for this car... Great score Eric, keep it nice & keep it stock. I bet in ten years you'll still be able to get your $3k back (or more).

The odometer has been rolled back. My mom had a 1995 Acura Integra, and I remember reading in the manual that if you see white lines between the ODO numbers, it means that the ODO has rolled back or rolled over.

Not one of my favorite cars on the road due to its overall appearance but if I was given an offer of three grr for a honda/Acura with one k miles, I'd still at least consider it! Great buy and even better knowing who worked on it is trustworthy!! Lol Keep up the videos, Eric, I enjoy each one posted :-)

Plz do a full detail on this car, engine, paint etc and make a video. Love this car. Nice color combo too. Has potential would def refinish those wheels. One of the best stock wheels. And fix the rust. The aftermarket radio isn't bad has USB. Can always source a oem radio online later on. Def needs a belt can hear it squeak. A lot of ppl don't use the AC and that's why they go bad. I run my ac in the winter on the high for a good 5-10min and this keeps it charged.

Congrats on the great deal! Love my 96 LS and 91 before that. I'd like a GSR but they're always in thrashed condition. One in that shape here would easily be 5k and probably priced at 6 or 7k. Great mileage, cheap to fix, and handles best between 0-100 mph. Civics are good but Integras have that cockpit feel and better handling. Keep it stock but consider a turbo install video ;) I hope you make videos about it sooner than later.

Wow what a steal! I got a similar deal on my 1996 Gsr. It was lady driven for 18 years bough from acura in alberta then a guy from my home town went and bought it, he had it for less then a year, the car was bone stock only had 189,000Km on it when I bought it from him even had the stock cassette deck. It had the same rust as yours has which is what all integras inevitably get. It had gotten into a small fender bender as well on the drivers front so the car was repainted. I purchased it got the body work and paint done back to as close as factory black that it should of been but with some extra gloss and the version of Gs-r i got is the cloth interior so it came with the GS-R snowflakes which are ugly as hell so i bought some Gs-R blades and painted them glossy black to match the car because it would of been to much work to sand them and polish them especially since im not a fan of the chrome look on import cars. But i love it iv had it for about 2 years now the old girls 20 years old soon to be 21 and everything works, A\c, power steering, power locks it even has the Acura key fob and alarm! Can't wait to watch you work on this beauty!
