@@ILKnierim I have been trying to do the electro etching ... Having some success but still botching stuff at times, That is probably something that would interest you since you can cut your own stencils

@@johnnyfudpucker6187 yeah I did a video on that not too long ago you're right it is kind of blotchy so I tried to use it to my advantage and make it look like it's galvanized I'm editing a video right now that's going to go out and probably an hour that shows that work and I'll have a link to that video thanks for the heads up✌Cya

Very Nice mate, try washing with warm soapy water after the etch. Soap is a base much like the baking soda and will help to stop any further reaction which is giving you the rust type look

Cool idea. I think an easier way for you to transfer even more complex designs onto the metal is by using a laser engraver. Paint the metal using mat black primer, then using the laser engraver burn a negative pattern onto the paint, clean the burnt paint off then brush it with iron chloride and once done remove the rest of the paint using acetone. Same method I use for etching PCBs.
@ILKnierim Жыл бұрын
I definitely would love to have a laser engraver but I bought a 3D printer instead soon I hope to purchase one

My mom died having no teeth. She can not chew her food properly... I guess its the cause of diabetes or aging.

I always mixed the baking soda in water and dunked the etched part in it to neutralize the acid, Also I’ve always submerged the part in the ferric chloride and let it sit for anywhere from a few minutes to like 10-15 min, gets much darker, but wouldn’t work as well for a smaller area.
@ILKnierim3 жыл бұрын
Wow thanks for the info it was first time not using electricity & submerging the part is why it didn't turn black thank you I will give it a shot✌

I don't think so. it's not very deep.✌thanks for stopping by
@recursivevoid15912 жыл бұрын
I think you could technically do it, only you would have to cover everything you want to preserve, then submerge the whole thing in ferric chloride and take it out from time to time (with gloves) to check if it's done.
