This is the best channel that I've ever seen for reviewing multimeter... Totally love it! 😍😍😍

One of your most comprehensive reviews ever. Calling their support line is went above and beyond. Thanks for testing the resistance of the probes from the previous review too.

Quick to pickup the phone and friendly too, I was really impressed with the ETEKCITY Support! 😃 👍

So glad you finally got around to reviewing this meter. Been asking for it since 2021 wasn't sure if it was ever going to happen. Was wondering how it performs on the trueRMS front. Don't think that was covered in review.
@KeepOnTesting Жыл бұрын
TrueRMS is fine. ETEK gave the the same reading as a SANWA. 😃 Sorry it took so long to finally get reviewed! Happy Holiday's!

Reminds me of a dressed up UT61 type meter, resembles a BK Precision meter - the case at least - lookin good and good for the price - also hey they answered the phone in person with a good attitude, well done

This meter looks like it checks all the boxes. I liked the phone call for support. You should have told them all your voltages are negative to see if they would tell you to flip your leads around. Nice job! 👍👏🏻

Now why didn't I think of that! 👍 Great multimeter all around agreed!

Thanks for this review, really informative. This seems like a really good buy considering the quality of whats inside. Would you buy this instead of the HT118A meters? I was thinking of the 118, but this seems like a much better value.

Great review. This meter has shades of 80s styling with the retro white on blue and seems to be solid build quality. The 4 input jacks is nice. Big display screen and accurate measurements. Comes with temperature frequency and capacitance so checks all the boxes. Can't go wrong for 50 bucks. The only design recommendation is put the off button in the center.

I couldn't agree more Jon, or give us a dual off that would've been icing on the cake!

That was easily one of the best meters you have reviewed Darren and I think the biggest con at the moment is that it is so good. What's that? YES! It's so good it's sold out on Amazon. Hopefully, this company can get some more stock on the shelves soon because a company like ETEKCITY has earned every happy customer they got with this meter. Dang, I wish I had one of those. As always, awesome review Darren.

Sold out...Oh my! Thx Danish 👍 This was a great multimeter to review and what a great all around performer and that creamy colored chassis looks better and better !👍

What an oddball color. But hey it does work! With warranty! One thing you might be able to try for those auto-off backlights. Press and hold until you hear a second beep and if it turns the lights off then...no bueno. Shame because it got AA batteries!

I like the plain look without the blue boot...but 💙 hey, as long as it gets the job done !

The white on blue has shades of retro styling and really stands out from the standard black box meter. It works. 👍

Thanks for the excellent review. The customer service is better than most businesses--lucky if you get ahold of anybody this day and time. Jambo59 has a great point--it's like a Uni-t with the case of a BK. I think this is a good cheap-o meter for the hobbyist who deals with low power circuits.

Agreed, great hobbyist or first time multimeter!

Hi Darren. Since ETEKCITY isn't really an electronics meter company I doubt that they design this meter themselves. So I suspect they are just putting their label on it. Any clue who actually makes this meter?
@KeepOnTesting2 жыл бұрын
Good question, I believe UNI-T is the oem for this multimeter.

@@KeepOnTestingwhich model of uni-t?
@taybos41122 жыл бұрын
Obviously a UNI-T sourced unit, just like the MSR-A600, which is a rebranded UT33+ series. This meter strikes me as sharing close ties with UNI-T's manual-ranging UT890C, right down to the near-identical case molding and SD7501 chip. Even the MOV layout (unpopulated on the 890C) is similar. Unfortunately, going by other online reviews, the "rapid-fire" continuity response on this meter is CRAP, just like on the 890C (a fault of the 7501??). I would've also ditched the "Rel" button in favor of a "Min/Max". A big NO from me. Oh, and by the way, the HT118A does NOT have a bargraph. Any "bargraph" with the same update rate as the digits is nothing more than a useless decoration--a waste of LCD real estate.
@KeepOnTesting2 жыл бұрын
OEM is definitely UNI-T but priced much better. I think it's a bargain all things considered 🤔 As with anything, opinions vary. Continuity is fast especially with better test leads at the helm. Thx for watching 👀
