This video showcases eternal champions' secret characters, with a Larcen mirror match stuck in between. Plenty of fatalities in it.
Senator's music theme is awesome. I didn't compress the sound (around 150 megs of raw pcm for 15 mins), so it's the most quality one can get out of youtube.

This was absolutely my favorite 2d fighter back in the day. The first game was good but this one had so much more variety as well as the controls feeling so much more fluid. At one point in time I had written down all the move lists, vendetta button commands, stage kill locations, combos. Lost that notebook a long time ago. I could have written a great faq on this game. I may stream a playthrough soon.

Nah, just the reaper. Xavier is just a template.

Thanatos is the Grim Reaper. In-game, he's a spriteswap of Xavier. Just like Senator is a spriteswap of Larcen

Sega needs to get off of its ass and hire the people that made the one really awesome game...you know, the one that had Greg Proops doing the commentary and Steve Blum as the main character and it was supposed to be on a very violent game show, and they need to get those people to make a new 3D Eternal Champions game and add a whole bunch of new faces, too. Eternal Champions could have been a nice cash cow for Sega had they had the balls to pull it off, though but that's my take on the matter.

Pretty much, yeah. The blonde guy running into the McDonald's stand-in in the background is meant to be then US President Bill Clinton. Apparently he really loved his fast food meals and it was joked about a lot on SNL and various late night shows like David Letterman. So yeah, it's just a dated reference that has little relevance today.

@@Popebug haha, I know what you mean :) I'm Australian and I probably wouldn't have understood the reference if they didn't show David Letterman over here back then and he didn't have at least one 'Clinton loves Big Macs/French fries' reference each episode. As for basing a stage around it I think this was around the time that American politicians like Sen. Joe Lieberman were up in arms about violent video games, and so I imagine the Senator fighter and his stage were a way of poking fun at those politicians (like the Senator throwing 'red tape' at his opponent, etc).

They all die, but also they all exist in an endless time loop because of Dark Champion. It's kinda like BlazBlue.

I like to think that for the earlier fighters (i.e. Slash), their surviving changes the timeline enough that the later fighters' deaths don't happen.

The rules of unlocking the characters are very unintuitive and obscure to the point nobody knows how to unlock some of them the fair way yet. I just used a code from gamefaqs.
