Amen here’s an argument I use against their favourite verse Matthew 10:28 People are already dead when they are thrown into Gehenna. Therefore destroy the body doesn’t mean kill the body since it is already dead. If destroy doesn’t mean kill the body then it doesn’t mean kill the soul. WHAT IS THE STATE OF A HUMAN WHEN THROWN INTO GEHENNA? LUKE 12:5 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed someone, has the power to throw that person into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, fear Him! - Dead. Matthew 5:29-30 Now if your right eye is causing you to sin, tear it out and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into Gehenna. And if your right hand is causing you to sin, cut it off and throw it away from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into Gehenna. - A Body. Mark 9:43-44 `And if thy hand may cause thee to stumble, cut it off; it is better for thee maimed to enter into the life, than having the two hands, to go away to the gehenna, to the fire -- the unquenchable -- 44 where their worm is not dying, and the fire is not being quenched. Isaiah 66 24 And they have gone forth, And looked on the corpses of the men Who are transgressing against me, For their worm dieth not, And their fire is not quenched, And they have been an abhorrence to all flesh! - Corpses. Matthew 3 10 And the axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore, every tree that does not bear good fruit is being cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. - A cut down tree is dead when it is thrown in the fire. Matthew 3 11 “As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” - Harvested wheat is dead when the chaff is thrown in the fire. Matthew 24 50 then the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know, 51 and he will cut him in two and assign him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. - A slave cut in two is dead when he is assigned to the place of weeping and gnashing. Daniel 7 10 A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were serving Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court [i]convened, And the books were opened 11 Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was killed, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire. - Dead. Revelation 20 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. - Dead. In the Bible Paul says to test the spirits , test even him. I was catholic and my parents told me to pray to mary, well, im not sure if that’s true.

My father still tries me on this. Catholics are very big on Fatima and the role of Mary in prayer. I don't follow that and I do not teach it to my children. We pray to Jesus and Jesus only. He is the only one that came and died for me why would I even want to pray to anyone else?

Love pastor joes heart for the Lord but i think hes wrong on this one. Im an SDA and i do believe in eternal punishment just not eternal punishimg. I think his defense on this is week and that he would loose in a debate against a good Adventist pastor who knows his Bible on this subject. I do believe there are good christians on both sides of this issue though.

The appeal to Christ's death might have been more effective if it didn't lead to the heretical conclusion that Christ atoned for our sin without having to die. Because that's what happens if Christ suffered infinitely on the cross, before He died, and that is how He took on our punishment. The traditional view of hell cannot affirm that Jesus suffered the equivalent of what hell is without leading to heresy. That's why many who hold to the traditional view don't make that argument in the first place.

You said that annihilationism leads people to still be ok with sinning because they just won't exist. The eternal burning and suffering in hell turns people away from God as well. I know many professed Christians that are only afraid of going to hell and do not truly love the Lord. So some of your arguments would still turn people away from Christ. I think you do a good job helping turn people to the Lord with Good Fight Ministry, but I do not agree with you on this my brother. Definitely think you should debate with someone who is well versed in this belief. Some would say tickling of the ears gospel about refusing to see that Saturday is the true Sabbath, so I don't think throwing around that term at other believers is something you should do brother.
