Man, every time I see an ankh, I wish the joker I wanted to copy was eternal so I could copy it again, and again. So eternal jokers are clearly not a disadvantage. Also, I would like to recommend a mod for balatro called “lobotomy corporation”, it is based on the game of the same name. The uniqueness of this mod is that you don’t see what the “abnormalities” (jokers) are doing, their effect will only be known over time. Some of them can be incredibly useful, or harmful.

Because 4oK is "stronger" than flush in terms of poker hand The same way the game will score you flush if you have 5 cards of the same color even if you have a double pair in your scoring hand

IMO is eternal is meant to be a downside it should be changed to unsellable, that is a downside, then it would be cool to add a new positive effect like negative that could be invincible where the joker couldn't be destroyed but still could be sold, because the not be able to sell part of eternal is a downside, if the other part didn't exist eternal cards would be about as much of a downside as the other downsides jokers have from later stakes, with the part of them not being able to be destroyed as well that makes it not a downside, that can work in some crazy ways

Madness' downside is that it destroys a random joker at the start of each blind, which wont happen if your jokers are eternal. There are other benefits in similar situations as well, meaning eternal has niche applications in which its beneficial or even necessary
