Back in the day I would have way to much going on with no idea about EQ and clashing frequencys but I saved everything so as My skill improved I went back and fixed those old tracks and there some of My best works.

Of course, mixing/design shall be contrast. 1. Not everything should/shall be clear. 2. Not everything should/shall be wide.

I like number 4. And it can apply to so many other things, even outside of music.

Also, use a global reverb so that it doesn't sound chaotic

Nice video! Learned some new things! Hardstyle kicks in the climax. So the kicks that play under the leads. Should they be in mono or stereo as well? Or only the punch mono or only the tail? Thanks in advance for answering!

Defenetly mono, the lead is in stereo in the drop, and as he said: compare wide to narrow, and in this case the kick is the narrow, so do put it in mono

I don't agree 100% with all the mistakes, especially point 2. In other genres, especially those guys who are working with real hardware units, there are some counteractions used to create a specific sound for a mix. One example of this is using a Pultec EQ taking out almost all the low end of a sound source, then a LA-2A style compressor to compress this sound heavily and then another Pultec to reindroduce the low end we took away in the beginning. This leads to a specific and realy smooth sound in the top end, especially on vocals or guitars. Also, there are some hardware units which are designed in a "push pull" manner. Of course it wouldn't make much sense if you use 2 Pro-Q's in a row performing a counteraction if you do not use something different like distortion, compressor etc. between them.

Man what do you need to be paid to upload a tutorial every week? I‘m sure we as a community would be able to cover that
