This is a great example where the timeout rule would have helped. Whether or not Jeff knew the answer, he lost the moment he gave up, but if there was a timeout rule, Roxy could have called it and talked to Jeff before the 5 pointer to bring his head back into the game.

Ok noticed a problem, Mark read that question wrong to Jeff in round 2, he said what film, the question said what western.... The players/managers have no way to see this and its a hugely important context clue. Luckily Mr Sneider got it correct. What would happen if he didnt know the answer??
@antuanlemon4844 жыл бұрын
I was wondering ab that too?
@ygmypay4 жыл бұрын
Noticed that, but we don't know that Ellis read it wrong - the question on the screen may have been the one different from what he had to read (maybe to make it easier for the viewer?). The "western" part is what made me know the answer - not sure I would have gotten it otherwise.

I normally have a problem with the 2, 3 and 5 pointer questions, but in this case, I think they were fair enough. They were not mainstream enough to be gimmes,. I would prefer, ( although this would never happen), to have the 5 pointer at least a multi answer question. As an example, Star Trek movies have had x number of composers, name 3 of them.

I feel like the 5 pointer should be a 4 pointer, maybe it wouldn't make that large of a difference but Jeff Clearly played the better game this match and knew Ethan's five, the five pointer has to much say over who wins and loses especially since they are not always balanced. Someone could be down 4-8 in the first round but if they know thier 5 and their oppenent doesn't they can win even if they only scored half the points of their opponent with the same exact questions.
@tbrek134 жыл бұрын
Game is perfect as is. Gotta study more to get those 5 pointers!
@FinalLevelBoss4 жыл бұрын
@@tbrek13 Exactly!! People want handouts and want to make it "fair" for everyone. The way it is now competitors can't half ass the first round and have to try and steal in the second. It makes them put effort into the match. If they don't thats fine too because they'll get KOed. It's not just about the trivia, it's about the game overall.
@Vader470004 жыл бұрын
It seems that because the final question is worth 5 points, the 3-pointer is too often rendered irrelevant into factoring the winner. It’s just a question of gameplay balance.

Jeff was up 4 points heading into round 3. He hit 2/3, Ethan hit 3/3. But since the 1 Jeff missed was his 5 pointer it makes the fact that he outplayed Ethan in round 2 mute. Feels like the outcomes are always way to heavily weighted on who hits the 5, and makes the match seem like the first two round are just fluff and it’s only about what happens in round 3. You have to be up by 5+ going into round 3 or else there isn’t much value in your lead and you have to hit the 5. Which is a hard place to put so many matches in when it seems like there’s always a controversy over the difficulty of the 5 pointer.
