I'm really crazy about Wing SUPing, so if it had a centerboard, I would absolutely try it out. The reason I love your channel so much is because of all that I'm LEARNING!! I've never done anything like SUPing, or Winging or anything like this before and eventually I'm going do it. 😎👍🏻

@ethanhuffsup For now, my Bote Rackham Aero gets me out fishing, but I want to FLY across the water!!! That Outdoor Master Whale cordless pump turned out pretty good! Though I definitely want to get that Puffer Pro...

Another great video. Thanks for your honesty and frankness with the board. Owning a hollow carbon board too, I know first hand how fragile they are and the importance of keeping it the water or out of the sun, let alone in 90+ degree heat. In my case, the board is in its bag or in the water, no in between, not always easy, especially after a long paddle. Thanks for your speed test, nice job. You mentioned your upcoming video on comparing race and inflatable race boards. I think this should make for a great video, since many paddler's are hesitant about inflatables, especially if they have been on a hard board for sometime, but are frustrated with the difficulty of traveling, shipping hard boards has gotten next to impossible. Perhaps you're planning this, but doing your speed test in the same conditions back to back on the two different boards, I am excited to just see that, let alone all your other insights (ie:stability, flex, chop, upwind, different widths depending on the type of board (narrow hard vs. wider inflatable), etc.). Thanks Again

Absolutely 👍I look forward to including your insights in the comparison video. 🙂

I was really surprised how stable the Blackfish was when I tested it out. Thanks for the video!

I'm currently on a 10-6x 32 SUP but this mainly for surfing. I wish to try The Blackfish; What width did you try?

Would love this board but not available in Australia (that I can find!)
@ethanhuffsup Жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately it can be tricky to get it in some locations. I even had difficulties trying to get one here in Mexico which is why I had to personally drive up to the States to pick it up.

I'm looking forward for the next video. I don't have to much space to spare for a hard board, so I'm considering to buy an All Star Airline, just like yours. I don't know what to do, I know that hard boards are faster but more fragile and they need to much space for storage.

Hopefully my comparison video in the next few weeks will help you in your decision process.

If your in Canada you can get an Aquamarina race elite 14x25 for 800$ before tax. Although it’s pin tale, a bigger fin can help for stability if you need it. I wish I had gone thinner long time ago.

I have a 2019 Naish Maliko, I really like it, but, I wouldn't mind getting a Starboard Gen R, or an Infinity Blackfish, I also want to look at the newest NSP Puma that has the Carolina hull shape. I would also look at the 404 Jump, SIC Atlantis,

@@ethanhuffsup I feel I need to thank you, I am fairly new to SUP'ing and after watching your channel and your advice on paddling correctly, I made huge leaps in my ability on my inflatable and now with the rigid board, most people think I have been paddling for years, when the reality is I have about 10 good outings under my belt. Most of which I have to say your advice is what runs through my head when I am training. So, Thank you, I very much enjoy all your videos.

I bought the Gen R. 14x23. I hate it with a passion. It’s such a struggle to get and maintain speed. It’s doesn’t really want to do anything
@richardjohnson46965 ай бұрын
@@rogerwaters413 I have watched SUPboardermag reviews and have been interested in what the actual reality is with the Gen R. I was looking at their 14x25 or their 14x 27. I am on a 14x26 Maliko now. I was in Hawaii last February and on a SIC RS inflatable in 14x 26, I hated that board for how hard it was to paddle, it has been the thing that has derailed my paddling more than anything, it totally destroyed my confidence. With how much I weigh, I couldn't do a 14x 23. I have to make it down to Portland and see what Gorge Performance has to demo.

Hi Ethan! So is there a difference in getting the Blackfish in the Dugout configuration vs the Flat top? I wish to purchase a Blacktop soon.
@ethanhuffsup Жыл бұрын
The Dugout is better suited for paddling in choppier conditions as it provides increased stability. The downside is that it's a little harder to get back onto the board when you fall off. The flat deck performs great in calmer water conditions and surf as it's easier to move around on the board and get back on when you fall off.
