Hi Peter. Bought one of the first 18" kits from you Dad many years ago, I think and the TO show but could have been somewhere else, don't remember now. I needed to put a new top on the sander but other than that it has served me well over the years. Thanks Bill

That seemed like a very useful introduction to the tool, thanks. I'd heard of them, and only have seen one before, and that was in photos online. It was set up with the drum over the table, and the table had jack-screws to change ¿cut-depth. I think it may have had notches to change basic adjustment. It looked useful for dimensioning where this style looks good for finishing and surfacing. I will look into the topic more

Bought one of the kits and the factory metal top, the quality of the parts seems great, but the instructions are terrible, be prepared for a lot of customization and trial and error when setting it up. I am now trying to build some type of motor mount that will work with the metal top. Certainly lots of room for improvment with the kits.
