My sister in law is definitely Ethereal! In fact, I said she was Elfan when we first met lol. She has that magical otherworldly vibe about her. And her style fits this label perfectly. She wears all shades of white almost exclusively. Cream, ivory, oatmeal... only solids. Very minimalist. Cotton, wool, knits, sweaters, wrap tops, big chunky scarves. In formalwear, silver, white, light pink, chiffon, embroidery, satin, silk look amazing on her. I feel like it's all about the fabrics and textures for this style. Just sharing for the ppl who find it difficult to create a wardrobe around this style expression. She doesn't even know she's Ethereal. I wonder if I should tell her lol

I finally realized I’m likely ethereal essence - I love the look of sundresses on me and most athletic clothes are a no go. Thick natural fabrics also aren’t great but anything airy looks great on me…. Going to try to go for more ballet inspired althletic clothes and silks for PJs. Yes! Everything makes sense now! I was unable to sleep, saw this video and said "Why not?" Like you, I have far more ethereal than I realised, and now I can add even more style! David Zyla (Emmy Award-winning expert on set, again) typed me as a Tawny Spring, and I knew he said all my shapes should be rounded without too much bulky fabric, but I confused long and rounded with short and rounded (especially since he advised me to wear short skirts (and this lady said ethereals are often depicted as young girls or something like that), but I'm not willing to draw that much attention, lol!) Besides, the long, rounded, slim styles are more in line with my current emotional inspirations, unless it's the slightly longer shirt with slim pants, which is very cute, and he did tell my type to wear tights with those short skirts, but I like the tapered pants or long, slim skirt. Plus, I do have some confusing Gamine/Classic/Ingenue thrown into the mix, and I should wear the richer version rather than all watercolor. But, I saw some pics we took from the other day when we went to eat, and I can no longer deny that strong ethereal element! David Zyla gave me some outfit examples and fabrics (cashmere instead of wool, snall fruit prints, Liberty of London, even pearlized leather (but not patent unless it's just the trim). "Cute ethereal" definitely puts all the pieces of this puzzle into place! He did say I should never lose my curiosity which my often-whimsical style choices should reflect, but I'm only now realising what it all meant! This also coincides with major emotional battles/victories and revelations (all realistic, though) I'm experiencing in my personal plane right now, and now I know exactly how to express it in such an authentic, satisfying way that can always remind me (God willing)! I love it!!!! (Sorry for the long-winded essay, but I just saw your comment and had to respond before I forgot, and I hope you are able to draw extra inspiration from some of this too!!!)

It's just a thought, but maybe try some sweaters, jackets, ponchos, etc with some feather or fur designs and detail. The fabrics can be thicker as long as they give the impression of air so something with movement that's not too structured.

KZbin does this every time, it's annoying but you just have to lower the volume of the background music when your editing, and increase the volume of the audio of your voice, otherwise the program and KZbin "think" that both noises are equally important.

Maybe a dumb question, but could someone explain what they mean with an S-curve? I see this used in every explanation about ethereal essence but never really got what they mean with it.

Other body shapes are described according to their dominant shapes, like circles, ovals, rectangles, squares etc. The S-curve is the dominant shape in the Ethereal - and resembles the gentle curvature of a strand of hair in a regular plait/braid. It is elongated and has a gentle curve: rather than being a compact oval or circle, it seems more stretched and undulating. It has a sort of sinewy effect overall… like the body itself is long and lean in general, and wavy hair rather than curly. These are examples of course,, and not true for every Ethereal! There are Ethereals with straight hair, and those who are not particularly tall yet still have the sense of elongation rather than compactness. In style advice, this translates as long, flowing lines. Anything with a soft, elongated ruffle rather than a tight one. Something with soft diagonal drape. A tapering at the waist rather than a cinching or something straight-sided. Pants or skirts with a soft curve at the hips rather than straight or rounded. If a Romantic were represented by a circle, and a Theatrical Romantic by an oval, these would be best mimicked in jewellery. Ethereals would do best with teardrop shapes or elongated S-curves like braid designs, longer earrings and rings. Filigree work in jewellery can often incorporate the curvature and detail and intricacy Ethereals need. 💖 Hope this helps!! 💝😇😘🙏

O que a maioria tem é pequenas quantidades desse elemento em sua beleza, é o caso da apresentadora desse vídeo, meu esposo é um etéreo 100%, para que isso aconteça a beleza precisa ser andrógina, ou seja, a mulher precisa ter o elemento yang predominante e o elemento yin em uma mistura quase predominante, no caso de homens é o mesmo, o yang representa a coluna reta e o yin representa a leveza que ao ir de encontro com a coluna bate fazendo a curva do S, e essa característica meu esposo e os etéreos puros tem, o corpo dele tem a linha ereta, mas ao mesmo tempo a forma de um S. Outro ponto a observar é que não existem só o etéreo angélico( meu esposo é o angélico com uma mistura de um ser da floresta), isso é lógico em termos arquétipicos, existem vários outros, mas as pessoas só querem os anjos. E sem falar que as imagens tem muito efeito de fotografia e outros recursos usados para criar a atmosfera angelical ou Etérea.

The Truth Is Beauty blog recommends aquatic or airy-feeling fragrances. Air and water are different worlds than land. A very Ethereal fragrance wouldn't be particularly sharp or spicy (Dramatic or Natural)), animalic or woodsy (Natural), or powdery (Classic), or a lush floral (Romantic), or sweet (Ingenue), or bright or citrus-y (Gamine).

I'm a soft natural with ethereal essence and it definitely harmonious together :) it's easy to combine the soft natural lines and cuts with the ethereal silhouette and fabrics. Something important to keep in mind it the small details. Like Jewel, soft harnesses with flowers on them, ruffles, gold accents, hair pins, or ribbons. Little dainty things pair so well between the two and don't feel childish but more fairy like or elf like. Adding those things to my wardrobe really seemed to up the aesthetic for me :) hope this helps

it’s just my opinion but if you HAVE ethereal essence as a SC you could probably cheat a little with your lines in that way. But maybe it would be easiest to just bring the ethereal palette and materials into your current SC wardrobe.

Absolutely! If you look at korean/japanese actresses you'll see it done a whole lot. ( koreans in the 2000s had A LOT of SC actresses, like an unhealthy amount). A lot of them have their own separate vibe though. Among the usuall SC examples, i'd say Leighton Meester, Veronica Lake, Olivia de havilland, Naomi Watts and Carolina Herrera also look ethereal. (Although i'm suspecting leighton and olivia have either a romantic or gamine tertiary and veronica for sure has a gamine one)
