I subscribed because of your final statement. Leadership is not about talking people into danger, its leading them with courage and inspiration through danger by doing the first step yourself. It is no doubt why many politicians are not well liked because they are mere empty words.

Saw this as an ad, while I have always been willing to put myself up for human trials, it was interesting to see the point brought up about the ethical dilemma associated. In contrast, I very much enjoyed the shining of light of the self driving cars selfishness paradox. My preliminary understanding turned out to be dead on with what was discussed, leaving me proud to say the least. If I may @Monster Box, I would like to present you with three moral questions to be pondered... 1) Lets say hypothetically, clones are made for human testing. These clones express no higher thinking, no self preservation, but have the same immunities and faults as normal humans. Seeing as we'd enrich their DNA to keep them relevant, would that be considered morally wrong, as these 'clones' would be created for the soul purpose of testing? Something to think about. 2)Multi planet colonization. My father of some 54 years brought up a good point. While it may become extremely necessary to mine planets other than our own, should these resources be kept within the individual planet's jurisdiction? While completely counter-productive, it does lend credit to "sucking dry" planets. 3) Genetic engineering via metamorphosis rather than embryonic engineering. While crisper makes massive leaps and strides with changing of genetic information, should the practice of "metamorpical" change be allowed on the human population? Example: Creation of extra heart to assist blood flow and increase max G-force resistance, Over recruitment of muscle fibers to increase general strength, or on the useless side, changing pupil shapes for cosmetic reasons. While these all prove to be ethically grey, some more than others, I am deeply interested to see a professional look upon one, two, or maybe even all three points. As a side note, I really like the idea of post-birth genetic engineering on live people, I would very much like to see a world where a change in facial structure could be achieved through genetic editing rather than plastic surgery, or redundant organs to improve resilience, or perhaps new sensory organs to detect and analyze new input such as lower frequency sounds and lights. Much research is yet to be done in fields to allow such progress, but it is never too early to begin public discussion on subjects that already challenge conventional thought. I would understand very much the 'moral dilemma' of tampering with the human genome, however if given the chance to branch off a new sub species through genetic engineering would mean an acceleration in human progress. If I could be a tool for genetic manipulation, regardless of the pain or risk of failure, indeed my body could be utilized as a catalyst. Cheers, and happy learning!

Thank you so much for your comment. Monster Box really appreciate your comment and hope that you’re satisfied with our answer. 1 => Does this clone has with no thinking (feeling pain, happy, or sad), if it does, then there are many serious violations of ethics. If that clone has no thinking, it is just only a block of protein with organs operating as stimulation, then is not ethical violations. However, the application for drug testing won’t work, and the result is not qualified for the final results. Let’s take a look at placebo effect test, and how the patient's behavior toward the affects the drug use. It is essential to test on real human, only partially limited. On the other hand, cloning a non-thinking body is much more complicated than cloning a real human. If we clone a body and feed it without a functioning brain, it shows that we have understood the human body to small specific cells. With such a background of that knowledge, in my opinion, the drug test would be only minor now. 2 => We have been still doing that, haven’t we? this will be different depending on whether you view Cristoforo Colombo as a great explorer, or a bloodthirsty invader. 3 => CRISPR was created as a breakthrough solution for the development of genetic engineering worldwide, which allowed small and separate laboratories to independently pursue this field, instead of having to be big centers with extremely high funds. Unlike human cloning, the major problem encountered in genetic modification (in humans or even animals / plants) is the complexity to prove that it is safe and poses positive effects on body or not. If scientists actually proves the health problems and the development of a genetic engineering. I think we should all support it. The issue of gene mutation is the morality. Who will be allowed to use genetic modification on a child before he or she reaches the age of 18 (age-appropriate to give consent on plastic surgery) What if my parents like to give me blue eyes while I like brown eyes. Once again, Thank you for your ideas. Please Share this clip to your friend if you enjoy it :)

Monster Box Woah- Did you guys actually just answer all three of those questions? Truthfully, it's hard to argue against both of these scenarios and the logic that follows. Myself I like to think i'm one who can see 'the big picture' so if animals have to be tested to prolong our own species because people won't volunteer for that pre-clinical stage of testing (and honestly, who is going to?) then so be it, yes its not fair, yes it got the potential to be unpleasant but people don't understand whats at stake here. The number of casualties for our own species because of life threatening diseases, infections etc etc would be substantially higher. I completely agree having good intentions definitely does not mean you're doing good. If you let emotions rule you head and dictate the lives and especially the healthiness of other people then you are not leading with responsibility or with a suitable and logical mentality. In fact you are unfit for that position. The self-driving car scenario is definitely a unique one. In fact I find this scenario much harder to weigh up than the animal testing one (that one I think is quite straight forwards if you ask me). However there are many many more variable with the car scenario. In short you're saying people buy more cars, then there will be less pedestrians. I don't believe you could ever get that number of pedestrians behind the wheel of cars to the point where you will only ever have the chance of hitting 1 pedestrian crossing the road, in turn the car would (i'm assuming here) prioritise your life over theirs. That is unless there was a complete overhaul of all the highway networks and roads (including the country ones somehow) where pedestrians could traverse over traffic ie bridges but that doesn't seem to realistic. To be fair though the whole autonomous vehicle thing is so far away from actually being a thing that I don't feel its worth getting TOO stuck into and debating over. However the animal testing debate is very much now and has been for a while so that definitely is worth the energy and time into resolving!

Emotional reasoning is the only adequate explanation for why unnecessary cruelty to animal test subjects should be avoided. Ethical improvements to testing standards, and resources to enforce those standards, only cost us time and money, and slow down the process of getting new drugs and products into the market. But you stated that "obviously" cruelty should be avoided and then dismissed the idea of emotional reasoning a few moments later, to the point of saying that people who use emotional reasoning should be kept from decision-making positions. Do you have a non-emotional reason for opposing animal abuse?

My problem with animal testing, and a solution. My problem: Has nothing to do with consent, but simply the suffering they endure even though they've done nothing to deserve it. Solution: We actually _do_ have a large number of humans that we can test things on. Who actually _have_ done something. We call them Prisoners. Especially death row inmates. They're already scheduled to die, so we could at least get something out of it.

Monster Box Well if I could make human lives able to Respawn continuously like online FPS games, come with mankind, and then this problem, the majority of problems can be solved from society, family, friends to the whole (life, health, spirit) and 2 issues such as how to revive the victim, how to change the nature of the crime. if you do well in the work of artificial intelligence, DNA change, cloning and brainwashing. Because humans can not easily respawn, so people need games to play. Sometimes, creativity and god is treating us as games. Sorry, because the words below are off-topic and may provoke you, if you are free then read,And you should have enough spirit thick,NOTE !!! Otherwise, I do not recommend for busy and hard-to-read people, BUT if you Want to know what I'm thinking then just read. (OH ,what is this ,to add another preconception and prejudice),I continue to discriminate, while I have not figured it out yet. to permanently remove biodiversity and diversity of personality and thought . Like as discriminating against women and black for example . It's a experience, I've posted it a lot, but no one reads, cares, and answers it, even the most casual and free. Even the machines learning of youtube did not provide satisfactory answers, and I would have accepted it, now the only satisfactory answer I would accept is the technology itself... cloning technology ,artificial intelligence machines and brainwashing, and the rest is probably useless. That is the simplest and most satisfactory answer for me,and i hopefully that , it will solve ... everything in life . I had to hesitate to tell you this, because you are the owner of the video. It is a battle of personality and sexuality, once I have failed, it also means that I am exhausted and we will lose the whole way. Love, love and emotion will be eliminated completely and permanently, because you have lost all that decisive. LGBT, I cannot have sex with gay . LGBT, race, country, environment ,etc ... the fate of those groups is equally bad. But it will never be possible to compare these two decisive fronts. Can you support and help me change this cruel world? AND you should also do it, to quickly get to the post-scarcity utopia era and get the post singularity technology. Because I can not do it myself, so I'm asking for help . Copy knowledge and brainwash yourself so that you do not neglect other things. This a the ultimate goal and first priority. Then superheroes, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and 3d printers, is second best. Doing : Step 1: You will have to learn the technology and make the most money possible with the best possible method. Step 2: Purchase land and equipment. Step 3: Produce a lot of food and find and obtain a lot of waste food and waste raw materials . Step 4: Use remote control machines and automatic machinery to do these things . Recycle a lot of waste, to become raw materials (plastic bags, plastic bottles etc ... into energy and fuel,Disassemble the parts of the old electronics , melt any solid material . Step 5: Sell of food and raw materials, to obtain human resources (manpower) from the homeless. Step 6: Repeat until you have the capacity to transport and retrieve human resources from poor Africans. Step 7: Selling food in exchange for minerals, and encouraging Africans to exchange food for minerals. Step 8: Selling minerals to scientists and technology organizations in exchange for machines and more advanced technologies. Step 9: Invest in technology to enable technology to copy knowledge into the brain, brainwashing (eradicating emotions, instincts and cultures) and cloning. Step 10: Continue repeating the above. Step 11: Anonymously and secretly release machines that automatically declare war on criminals, and terrorist organizations. Step 12: In spite of serious privacy infringement, drop a lot of unmanned aerial vehicles built by 3d printers (for everything and have artificial intelligence) to track and attack. Step 13: Only if one of the following conditions occurs will I cease my efforts. 1 is that I have permanently removed male men (Then continue to do experiments on the personality of women). 2 is that I completely eliminated sex and gender. 3 is that I have advanced technology, especially technology to copy knowledge into the brain, brainwashing (eradication of emotions, instincts and culture) and cloning. 4 is that I have completely eliminated the food chain. 5 is that I have completely eliminated the threat (100% no crimes, monsters, aliens and any other threats for at least 100 years to verify). 6 is after, I have caused nearly half the world by non-violent means . Or $ 10 billion by violent methods, which I have not been able to accomplish. Actually, it's $ 1 trillion, but because I hate violence since the violence against women, what I really need is to brainwash those bad guys and end the negative diversity. Do it in peace, do not use force, in calm, not angry and secret. Just because of the fears, just because I'm addicted to this stuff, not to social evils, just because of gender issues, not to mention anything else, while there are many people complaining about Being alone in the universe, I have suffered enough to lose and die mentally, due to the war of good and evil, between instinct and reason, between men and women, between white and black, between adults and children, etc. I have no choice but to find a way to activate a weapon that is cloned, nano-robot, and brainwashed. This battle, though not without gunfire, has no bleeding,no bombs explode , but it will be EVEN more dangerous than nuclear radiation, biochemical weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. Because ….. Just like as the pen is stronger than the blade, but not, the power of the pen also depends on the authority, and the willpower of the person. So…... The complete brainwashing of technology, anyone, no matter how big their wills, violent weapons or their words, can not stop the organization of technology of brainwash, DNA editing and cloning. In fact, I should not have interfered with the largest scale possible, while the nations, religions, political views, etc., were different ideas, a different one. No discrimination is new, no disability, age, race, etc., they have no choice. And to the sex problem is even worse and more trouble, when. Things are out of control, where discrimination against women is not simply stigmatization, not simply harassment because of discrimination as well as discrimination. refrain from the evil instincts of the white man, as a phobia of desires not only for the power of other discrimination but also for uncontrolled sexuality and after being harassed Puppet sex leads to rape. Things are out of control, where the problem of sex is not simply not discrimination, but also violence against women (while malignant males in countries, religious and other political views are fighting), and women do not like sex and violence. Things are out of control, when the problem of sexual reproduction and sex is the main, it has caused other differences such as LGBT, maternity regimen, etc. Things are out of control, when bad men themselves may not have a full life without women, even though women are, men will suffer more when they divorce. . Everything is out of control, when a child can be orphaned, only because of the birth, but the baby needs to breastfeed. Things are out of control, without a family without gender differences and age, when failure and loss of family is a serious misery. It was out of control, when I was a bad man myself. Things are out of control, just because of gender issues, but I have not said anything else. I repeat. THINGS ARE OUT OF CONTROL . YES . My life, my work, my friends, my family, even my own, will not be there anymore. My initial desire to live far away from society is because I do not want to get caught up in tax and transportation laws. Because I want to survive the apocalypse better, because I want to secretly destroy the dictator, criminals, unlawful terrorists and many other reasons, but now it is against food, sex, and violence. Initially, I was the most aggressive, but since this disaster, my main weapon will be only advanced automation technologies such as nano robots, cloning and brainwashing.

Here's an awful one..... An alien has offered to create peace on Earth and make it amazing for the people living there. But, he has requested one small child to preform experiments on. This child will be inflicted with UNIMAGINABLE amounts of pain. He has given the choice to you. Would you agree? Let's change up the story then. Here are some twists. 1. He requests a group of children 2. He requests a child every ten years 3. He requests YOUR child 4. The child will live and have these experiments preformed on them for an unnaturally long amount of time 5. The child will return after ten years and know you said yes to the agreement 6. It is an adult 7. It is someone who is in prison 8. You are the child 9. You must/get to choose the child 10. He requests a sick child that is going to die very soon anyway What would you do if these other twists were part of the agreement? Comment your answers to each with yes, no, or unsure for the original, and each of the "twists". You can also comment why. I read this moral dilemma from somewhere, but made up the "twists." I will not judge you for any of your answers, just curious.

i like the content that you're doing but the art style is way to much like Kurzgesagt, I wish it was a bit more original with the art style or layout... but other then that it's pretty good.

Never mind the fact that -- regardless of whether or not individual consumers can be convinced to purchase them -- self-driving vehicles *will* put millions of people out of work, as automated vehicles will be cheaper to produce and easier to maintain than ones with human drivers -- nor that, given how laws currently stand, not any of the economic benefits of self-driving cars (or automation in general) will be passed along to those newly-unemployed people. It's a recipe for societal disaster. Who's the one not thinking about long-term consequences, again? (Note: I'm not arguing that we shouldn't have self-driving vehicles because it will put people out of work. I am arguing that the economic benefits of automation should be shared with society in general, instead of reaped by an already-wealthy few.)
@MonsterBox7 жыл бұрын
Very good points you're raising. However, we try to focus in this video is the morality of human's choices rather than how automation might steal jobs from humans, which is also a great contents for future videos. Hope you enjoy our video

It's a sudden accident, so the car won't be able to predict. If we can invent a machine that can predict any bad things might happen, then we might hav new scenario to talk about in the video
@MonsterBox6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. However, The point being made here is about the moral choice not how auto pilot car can predict the accident

@MonsterBox6 жыл бұрын
the main message is that: We should take into considerations as many factors as possible before making decision. Most of the times we make decisions based on gut feeling, based on what makes us feel good. We think that because we simply have good intentions, we are doing good things, while the truth is that those actions and decisions may cause more harm than good to the society. Hope that clears things up ;)

It was such a good video, until the end. Then it took a dark f*cking turn. Awful, just awful advice. He has clearly not read Hume's critique of reason, and yet he is so confident that morality is a rational process, as if it's a settled issue. What nonsense. But I suppose I shouldn't expect too much from a utilitarian.
