Ethiopia: Addis Ababa Deaf School

Joel visits one of the Deaf schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Black Lion High School ( Tkur Anbessa High School) has two buildings for Deaf and hearing students. Joel is surprised to meet some hearing students in the Deaf classrooms with Deaf teachers. All teachers are using sign language as full accessibility for any students. (captioned)

My Dad helped in the development of the School for the Deaf in Addis Ababa many years ago. It was during the time of the Emperor's reign, Haile Selassie I. He has been gone a while now, but I have always felt fortunate that he was my Dad. He did a lot of good in the world.

I am very surprised that two hearing students into deaf world! I never thought that it would like that. But indeed it! Can't imagine if hearing students go to deaf schools in the USA then probably the best way to get equal everyone! ❤

There is one school in the USA that has both hearing and deaf students. It is in Dallas, Texas and the name of the school is Sunshine school. It is mostly for elementary age students.

WoW very nice and sweet of them. They Ed education for their future careers. Some other deaf kids didn’t go school sad. They’re very lucky to have wonderful teachers. Joel, I’m so proud of you cuz you finally met deaf black people out there and learned their culture. Now you know. 😊👍🏻

They are Deaf teachers so i m very proud of them.. they show all their skill subjects like Physical, history, English etc over all world
