In this episode we do a bit more exploring for the Minecraft 1.20 features. We give the camels a test drive. Then we get to building the long forgotten Dragon Egg Tunnel using a fun combination of blocks and gimmicks.

24:40 Mojang introduced a new feature where you can place a dragon head above a note block , which then plays the Ender Dragon mob sound when the note block gets powered. You could use that to replace the shrieker sound in the entrance to the dragon egg tunnel.

Hello Etho! Love your dragon tunnel, was thinking maybe can have 3 modes for the fire switching. Blue flame: Default, means the door is locked. Orange flame: When 'registered' the input of the ender eye, the flame switch to orange. Then the chaotic mode happens when all 4 of the flames are lit.

From 6:42 onwards I think this village and the weird terrain shapes are a result of the new world blending system added in 1.18 that made chunk borders at new terrain types more smooth to get rid of the sharp, unnatural looking cliffs you'd find previously (1.6.4 to 1.7.2, etc.)

It can be very difficult to watch a loved one go through a situation like that. It's easier to pull away than to face things head on. Try spend as much time with her as you can and live in a way where you won't feel regret. Tell her the things you want to tell her. Be weary of forming bad habits as a means of coping... substance abuse, over eating, and hoarding are just a few of the common pit falls.

I was a bit of a latecomer to Etho's (Ergo's?) channel and only did the complete series watch-through a few years ago. So the "let's create a room for the dragon egg!" project feels relatively fresh in my mind, and yet it's STILL hard to escape the sense of amazement that it still hadn't been completed! ...yet, I'm not complaining. I LOVE how Etho's world and LP has so much history and continuity - that we frequently get to revisit things like this, instead of always being caught up in the chase for novelty. Exploring the Etho LP world from a download feels like visiting a museum. For that matter, it almost feels significant enough as a cultural artefact for me to imagine it being preserved as a work of art in an actual museum. (...I hope Etho isn't reading this)

Etho regarding the pitcher pot plants and the torch flowers, just round up a bunch of sniffers and set up a hopper minecart track under the area. The sniffers will forget about the same block and then sniff out new seeds again after a few minutes. It's not fast but it's an idle farm. And the dragon tunnel is soooo cool!!! If he wanted to get real fancy - there's probably a distance at which the sensor would only activate one shrieker. It'd take a lot of sensors, but putting the sensors out to the sides would mean a minecart would be able to activate individual shriekers in a wave as it bounces back and forth (as opposed to the current groups of 8 or 9 shriekers at a time like it is now).

For the shrieker effect: you could have a wave going in both directions (no reflection) when an ender eye triggers the redstone. This would probably look best with a combination lock, where you have to run back and forth, so you actually see that efect. Then when the door is open, have it go back and forth like you said. Also you could have the fire color changed when the ender eye triggers and then start going mad once it opens. It might also be cool if even more changed when the door opens, to really add to the chaos. There are a lot of options, like walls going through a piston tape, noteblocks, fire balls, fireworks, etc. but they would mostly be loud and maybe annoying. But maybe that is just thematic since it's supposed to be closed.

That tunnel is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! My jaw literally dropped when you entered it and were met by all those STUNNING animations The way you integrate redstone/game mechanics into builds never ceases to amaze! From the surges of blue flame climbing up the warped wood to the shrieker wisps following you through the starry skulk floor, the details bring it to life! Excited to see where you take this next :D PS: Have you considered playing either of the 2 most recent Zelda games? They seem like something you just might enjoy (but no pressure to play them ofc!)

Woah when he say he's talking 6 hours per video is that because he's still commentating while doing other stuff just in case something happens or what? Or is there really like 6 hours of footage he cuts out where he's trying to talk to us directly but messes up? Idk seems weird to me
@EthosLab
@EthosLab 10 ай бұрын
Some of it is mess ups, some of it is rambling, some of it is stuff that just feels out of place or not impactful enough in the episode, some of it is talking just in case something happens. Exploring, caving, and testing out contraptions is unpredictable so I just keep talking throughout in case something special happens. Otherwise you get awkward almost forced feeling clips similar to how reality shows pretend to commentate on what is happening even though they film it after the events of the show.

@@EthosLab That makes sense, helps keep the flow of the stuff in and out of the video somewhat more consistent I guess. Thank you for the reply it made my day! :)

I unironically love the entrance to the dragon egg tunnel. The sound and lighting fade are just so cool (and tbh, the dragon statue looks really awesome too)

I like the idea of the minecart activating the shriekers after you open the door. Just adds to the chaos / disturbed peace vibe that you are going for.

The fire should change whenever you get that part of the combination correct. Each pair turns blue then when the door opens they all flip super quickly and the sensors go crazy.

that sensor spawning next to redstone reminds of how one time in terraria all of my female npcs kept getting killed because in a random underground house there was a queen statue hooked up to a pressure plate, and whenever a mob hit it they would end up killing the npc too. this lead to many headaches and we found it completely by accident.
