I think that Etho did not kill the pigman. When he was shot, he flew backwards, straight into the portal. There were no XP or drops... the pigman slew Etho, laughed about it and survived. I bet that he is considered the greatest hero in pigmen legends of this world.

Hey Etho! I was thinking about your Emerald City theme. It's really awesome! Keep it that way! :) It'd be cool if you made like "veins" or something like that, just to put different ores into your city. Like diamond blocks in the middle or something like that, or hanging from the ceiling, just like gold blocks etc. Would be cool :)

Etho, for the style you're currently going on with for your Emerald City, you should consider having to clear out the cavern a bit more and add a castle in the middle-back. Inside the castle you could have it built such as a real one with a training room for the villagers (mobs, etc) as well as a potion making factory and an enchantment room inside. A library and other things you would see in castles could be added. Would give that extra "buzz" to your city. Can't wait to see it all finished

Etho, I think you should build Emerald City as a series of tiered rings. You could have them expand outward and downward for two layers/rings, and then have another ring or two lining the walls of the cliffs up above. The cliff-houses would continue the style set out by the first 4 houses, but would be dug into the walls instead of being separately built.

Great video, Etho! Something you might find useful to know - I was experimenting with just this sort of portal two days ago and I wanted it to turn it off after a delay. I found, however, that the redstone freezes upon re-entering the world though, so the timer never times out to deactivate the portal (this was in 1.3.2 creative). I also tried hooking up a t-flip-flop to the buttons so that the portal is covered when it is off, hiding the dispensers somewhat.
@Drabbersquash12 жыл бұрын
Hey Etho, as you know, in the new version 1.4 you will be able to have other mobs/entities travel through the nether portal. i think that this will be a great advantage for you to hook up to the blaze farm so that you wont have to travel to the nether every time you want to access it and could also make it so the blaze rods go through a portal into the overworld! just a suggestion
@tns22x12 жыл бұрын
etho, for the dispensers that have water in them, you can keep them powered, and they will activate when powered or depowered by another wire, so you don't need to power it twice
@Ezis912 жыл бұрын
Also Etho... I reccomend for your portal that you hide the dispensers using pistions. ie. Put the dispencers on top behind pistioned blocks. Then put another two piston blocks on the bottom so it will drain out the back. That way, when it's off, you will see nothing but blue lapis ;)

well, for starters it's full of useful materials. so when you dig out space for your projects you get loaded with goodies. secondly, it's really convinient as you always have a roof and walls which you can easily utilise it projects. thirdly, caves have a cool natural design and can spark a lot of creativity when thinking of buildings. and it's also just cool ^^

Etho, If you want to see something cool go the the silverfish cube farm and break about 4 silverfish blocks, then throw a extended poison potion at them. Once they finish being poisoned lure them all to the middle and throw a poison at the bunch.. it will be great!

If you have the dispenser with water in constantly powered by a torch, or lever, and then activate the dispenser, it will have a double pulse, so you don't need all the circuitry! :)

ETHO! I have a great idea! For your storage room, put dispensers (as you were going to), but on the dispensers, put item frames to show the items off! Now you won't have to use signs that you can't read from far away :) It looks amazing too, a nice look with the dispenser's texture.

That village idea with the tree sounds epic! You should definitely use the villager fountain if you don't want to do the tree!
@kyroo105212 жыл бұрын
I think, you should grow a jungle tree in the middle of the village that reaches to the outside and then also make a lookout on it so you could overlook your village from above.
@AdnamaBriefs11 жыл бұрын

Etho, just put a torch on a block directly behind the dispenser then it will drop the water then pick it back up and it will be more compact.
@Psoinic12 жыл бұрын
Etho, instead of dispensers, you could disable the portal with sticky pistons to push a block into the portal.
@cannypeng74312 жыл бұрын
in emerald city you could build it in levels so you can have different places and more villager spawn rates and a central tower to provide food in chests in the tower and then suck them back in the night so you don't have to worry about it being killed by zombies, creapers etc.

I think in the center of the city, where you tried the netherbrick and grass, you should replace the grass with emerald blocks. I know that would be reaaally expensive, but overall, I think it would look awesome, and really highlight the fact that it's "emerald" city. Or, do emerald blocks with double slabs if you want to give it a lighter feeling.

Etho, personally I think that since it's "Emerald City" I think you should incorporate emerald blocks into the circle. Maybe replace the grass with emerald blocks and then put the lava glass combo back in. Just a suggestion, know it would be expensive, but it would be very impressive and very Etho!

Dear Etho, You should put pistons under the emeralds in front of the door on all of the houses and wire them together for a "lock-down mode"
@MrSmoothfish12 жыл бұрын
etho i think one thing you should do in your cave is to change the sandstone in the enchantment room with wooden planks, not all of it because those two blocks look good together but there is just too much sandstone in that small area
@HomesliceHobbes12 жыл бұрын
Etho you should make suspension bridges into different cave houses. It would be like the "sketchier" area of Emerald City.

Etho. to make more villagers you can make a cellar type living rooms underneath the ground with doors for poor villagers that cant afford good houses and make a staircase so they can go down and live there. that could rise the population of your city and even maybe spawn golems which they usually do if there's enough villagers.

@DavidTriphon12 жыл бұрын
Etho, you said that you thought the dispensers looked ugly for the portal frame. You could perhaps use pistons to let water out If the timing works right. Because if it does, then you could use your own style for the backing.
@MechazoidApocalypse12 жыл бұрын
Instead of nether brick or sandstone, you could probably use birch, it has some texture and might look good
@IMonsterman371512 жыл бұрын
Etho hope you read my comment but yes in 1.4 the clock will move in the frame also make a emerald blacksmith it would look so cool!
@Ghost891912 жыл бұрын

@gracemorgan786112 жыл бұрын
Two things when 1.4 comes out water won't be able to destroy nether portals so you should make a piston move a block in the portal and another thing all animals and villagers can go in the nether too so you can use that for villager teleportation
@incherre12 жыл бұрын
Etho, I think you should use hanging lanterns. In my opinion they look really cool in large caverns. You should also consider making a small ice cave/shrine to pay homage to your original theme idea.
@Arcticpolar1212 жыл бұрын
Hey Etho, I think you should add a toggle-able button that activates pistons and blocks the flow of lava into the room with the nether portal, creating a door.
