I apologize if this has come up before, but a friend illuminated me to an interesting note about this dungeon: the cult which is attempting to bring in the voidsent go by the name "The Lambs of Dalamund." At first, the mission seems successful, having killed all of them and left them to rot. The voidsent are summoned anyways. The idea that was posited to me is that calling themselves "Lambs" indicates the cult had intended to be slaughtered there from the beginning, to act as the sacrifice. Does this theory hold water? Once again, I apologize if this is an old topic. Very good video by the way. Learned a lot.

Sounds perfect, I'd say.

Another entertaining note on the boogeyman: if you turn away from him you won't be damaged by his huge aoe. kinda feeds into childish notions of "if you don't look at the monster it can't hurt you". Love this dungeon. cool vid!

I'm re-watching a lot of these great videos when I can't be home playing Shadowbringers, and I am supremely impressed that you're able to run a dungeon AND talk about the lore at the same time!

Just found your channel and I love it! I can't wait to listen to the rest of your vids! On a side note, I don't understand why ppl complain about reused assets. Every MMO I've ever played does it, even normal rpgs do this. I'm glad you pointed out even tho there are reskins, they did it in a creative manner.

I like listening to these and proving just how much I don't know. It puts a new spin and life into something when it has more lore to it

10:47 the only thing hard about demon wall back when it first came out was ppl forgetting about the two gnats that spawn mid way through the fight and para everyone. And they have since removed that lool

I always thought the Ferdiad presented in AK hardmode was an homage to Kefka. Or maybe Zorn and Thorn? I don't know, the reference to the Gae Bolg was interesting as well.

+Sepp Grayve That's an interesting post and it gives some fair and intuitive insight into Diabolos. In places like that the area names certainly seem indicative of their function so that is something I'll definitely keep in mind. I think the most interesting thing from that thread is the idea that the Baalzepon's could be tainted or bound former White Mages... reminds me of the function of Tal Rasha in D2, very cool.

the design of ahchag kind of reminds me of how SE has gone about making Odin in many of the more recent Final Fantasy games. I don't doubt the dullahan representation, but the big sword, riding a horse and dark armor makes me think of Odin in FF13 (Minus dark armor), and his design in world of final fantasy.

If you get smushed by the demon walls, you guys die, but restart with all the mobs you've already killed being dead.

As a big love of mythology irl and in game, I'm really loving these videos as well are your armoire and 20 malms episodes! Off-topic to the video question: When will you be diving in to the Veil of Wiyu and/or the lore of Summoner?
@EthysAsher10 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The Veil of Wiyu is pretty close to the top of my to-do list. It's one of the most requested for the armoire, but it's concurrently one of the most dense and one of the most abstract relics to analyse; so all I can really say is - hopefully soon!

The dullahan's name can be translated as The Kiss. An Chag. Just checked with Google translate if chag was a word. Been too long since I actually used any Irish. Also the language is generally referred to as Gaelge while gaelic is more a descriptor.

Fantastic as always, and I knew I recognised Ferdiad from somewhere :)

Thanks Drazzy - I wanted to have another armoire episode out today but I'm reluctant to record anything like that with a subpar mic when I've got a nice new one about a week overdue D:
@DrazzyDrazzan10 жыл бұрын
Ethys Asher Your current microphone is certainly fine, especially after you fixed the static by removing the noise like we discussed. Now I'm not entirely sure about your rig, but there's a very real possibility that your microphone that's on the way won't sound as crisp as you may expect or want it to. This could be due to motherboard/sound card differences (Most motherboard sound-cards can do a decent job, but sometimes they struggle with extra detail and clarity, but hopefully it won't be a problem for you) and interference, but if you do need any audio help at all, just let me know.

It's not gay, it's being smart. If the enemy's hide can't be pierced then you just aim for the bits that can't be protected. It's unpleasant but highly effective.

Anchag is probably a reference to the Ankou. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankou

Not sure if you'll see this, but have you considered doing something on the Map Names of the areas? See this post of a very cool (IMO) speculation about what the dungeon tells us about the inhabitant. forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/157248-Diabolos?p=2002594&viewfull=1#post2002594
