We had our daughter go to the same language scheme when she was in Berne, and she was in that class a month and then was went to the Secondary School. It was a great thing for her, and she spoke Bernese and hoch Deutsch and as a result had many Swiss friends. So different if she had gone to the International school in a little town nearby. I believed in the whole Swiss experience. Her teacher suggested to her that she always speak high German to her friends because they understood it, and they would speak Bernese to her. Her teacher said that way she wouldn't ruin her German learning. She was so correct. Our daughter loved her 2 year experience (she had gone to Kinderschule in Berne years before so the Bernese came back to her) and as a result continued her German back in the US and it was one of her college majors, which she uses in her work today when she is working with a German company...and people do like to talk in their native tongue. I just thought that I would tell you this to encourage you...you are doing such a good thing to have them go to Swiss schools. A bee friend told me about your bee video so this is how I found you. Serendipity!
