Thats the way musicians are... i guess... i know my lakes, i know jazz trumpet, and i know that i'm very far from what i dream to be! But close enough to take pleasure with my instrument. Is it necessary?? Dont think so.. lol Thanks for that nice comment Joaquim!!

YOU have got a bit of that Chet thing going on. no doubt about it , lovely tone ,I really dig the way you play. keep it up!

I understand you ... and I understand when you say 'not false modesty' ... that's becvause result does not always = conception. However, you are young and have plenty of time to fine tune your playing. What I admire greatly is your mature conception and the way you naturally resolve the phrases ... that's pleasing to the ear ... as is your unobtrusive tone . Keep posting

It`s great! The only advice would be to practice playing eight-notes a lot, you should be able to play them over a long period of time... And maybe playing a lot of pedal-tones would help you increase your range.

I just saw back in my chair and relaxed. That was so cleansing to say the least. Your tone is one handed down for the gods, personally. I really hope you record more of the slow blues, for everyones sake!

Not bad at all. i guess you have been playing for some time 'cos you have a nice rounded tone. I also guess you listen to Miles a lot :) I also guess you mainly play by ear. So all in all good stuff!

Very nice tone, overall It was a beautiful rendition. You seem to have a little problem with some consistency with the higher notes. Try tightening the gut other that the lips. It is a method that i use and it helps a great deal if your lips are getting a little tired. Then again you blow me out of the water with that tone.

Hey this is good stuff. I guess you listen to miles a lot. and mainly play my ear. Both good qualities. You also have a good sound. Little bit of jazz vibrato at the end of long notes and you'll be set. You did run out ideas (and tone) towards the end, but that's understandable. You need to get out there and do more playing in clubs and pubs etc.

thanks! I use a sony ms-907 or something like that. It's just plugged into my computer sound card. Really simple. I mix that with an aebersold on Sony vegas.

I would pay good money to see this live! Where did you find the sheet music for this? Or did you do it by ear? I am thinking of writing it by ear from this video but I'd prefer the sheet to bring to my music lessons!

Dude this is just sweet man. I wish I could play like this and hoping I can work my way to it. I've only been playing for 5 years, and currently a junior in highschool and I was wondering if you could give me a few pointers to help me keep going. I really love playing but can't get past what seems like a wall in my playing. So advice? Please and thank you.

take bigger breathes!! fill up and always play with a pure full sound, even when your playing soft

I try not to have too much vibrato in my sound. I like when i have a pretty straight one. (my former trumpet teacher hated vibrato... classical trumpet teacher, and i keep a bit of that in my play... even if it was more than 10 years ago, i remember this advice lol)

Man dont worry! Trumpet is a jealous lover! You can't forget her or do too much other things (if you want to be part of the good one!!... i dont lol) Just keep practising but first of all, listen, listen and listen to trumpet players! Good luck man!
@Icopper15 жыл бұрын
you hit some really cool spots in the changes, atleast in the first chorus i noticed some relly nice phrases... it seems like you're having trouble still making the changes come together, don't know if you get me....the 4th/5th chorus you kind of broke out and has some nice melodic stuff going down.... you should work on 2-5-1 lines...and work those through
