I appreciate the detail, I am pulling the engine in my wifes and have the other on it's way being shipped. Have only got the engine mounts, the crankshaft pulley, the exhaust manifold nuts, and the transaxle bolts and torque converter bolts and itll be good to go....thank you for the video.

Thank you very much for your feedback, Frances! First generation Honda CR-V made tough to last almost forever if you stay on top of all basic regular maintenance. They run half a million no problem but you have to maintained the vehicle. Overall, vehicle don't have any serious flaws.

Hi Hannah! I am working on the engine itself. I haven't finished yet - too many other projects") but video is coming out sometime soon. Back to your question, could be number of things. Does it crank? Do you have RPM signal during cranking? Can you turn engine over with a ratchet? Did you see that engine running before it was swapped? Did you verified cam/crank timing marks? Let me know more details. Yeah, check all wiring twice!

When you put a new engine in did you already have the pulley put back on?

I wouldn't pre-install crank-pulley before prier installation, otherwise you won;t have enough gap to slide engine in.

separating the bolts at ~19:10 - this is specific to an auto trans where you have to unbolt the engine from the torque converter yes? but not required for a manual transmission?

That's right James. Manual transmission gear box doesn't have torque converter whatsoever. You just pull input shaft out from the flywheel. How is your swap btw?

I removed alternator as unit without taking pulley off. I did not looked flywheel I just used Leslie socket and 1/2" Impact.

My sister has a digger. I am thinking of lifting the body off leaving the engine, transmission and front wheels connected to each other. Needing to do head gasket and timing belt. What are your thoughts on this approach? Any thoughts on good lifting points. I have access to welders etc to make spreader bars etc.

Hey Tony, You don't need to pull the engine out to do the head and timing belt. You can leave the engine in just take head off, replace timing belt from the side. It might be cheaper to swap anther engine than deal with head gasket. Check the cost of doing swap or head gasket. I

I didn't take exhaust manifold off I just removed down pipe from the manifold. No, you only need to remove down pipe that's it.

Hey John! I have never heard about Honda Orthia before. We don't have this model in Canada. Just by checking Wiki, seems like this is JDM vehicle powered with the same 1,8 B18B DOHC inline-four or 1,9 B20B DOHC inline-four engines as CR-V.
