eToro posted this almost two weeks ago, but I only just saw it as I was checking out the smart portfolios and suddenly realised why there'd been such a huge spike in sign-ups...
eToro are running a special offer whereby if we (as existing customers) invest a minimum of $10,000 into a specific smart portfolio, and if we then hold that investment open until January 1st 2025 GMT, eToro will absorb any losses we may have incurred during the time we've held the asset open.
So if we make profits, they're ours, but if we made losses, eToro will pay for those losses and give us back our principal invested sum, provided we've held the investment open for the required time. That's quite something!
I go over what I know so far about the special offer, and take a look at the asset itself to see its past statistics, how much risk is associated with it, and whether it seems like a good idea.
I don't actually have $10,000, so unfortunately I can't take this offer, and it would mean tying up our money for over a year, which is a real consideration, but to me it's a very tempting offer.
