I'll always be grateful to the novelist John Sandford whose Virgil Flowers character was on a long drive that was made easier by finding Terry Allen's Bottom of the World on a late night radio playlist. I knew enough about Sandford's work to be sure that this was a real song by a real guy, so I looked up Terry Allen. Many thanks to John Sandford and Virgil Flowers for the introduction.
