I'm gonna be honest my strategy for this boss was pretty much just bind it's legs and revenge blast away. Really though I'm just baffled how freaking efficient you are at killing bosses because your team is roughly 10-15 levels below where I was and you're killing the bosses in 1/3 the time

You don't have to fight any guardian FOE if you use lure bells.

Just beat him. My strat was Troubadour HP buff and just constant healing from medic. My 3 Dps did the rest after a long while, slow and steady won the race.

This boss drove me bonkers with my base setup of PROT / RONIN in front and SURVIVALIST / ALCH / MEDIC in back. I ended up just doing 4 ALCH and a Troubadour and killed it on the first turn, expert mode. Ifrit + 4 flames at 99 tec does ~ 1200 each. Alchemist feels pretty overpowered in this game. A lot of guides say it is too costly and not great. Didn't feel that way.

It's actually very broken in the main-game. Post-game is where its damage becomes terrible. The real issue is how much you're willing to front the TP costs, which some people weren't willing to deal with.

I did some math the other day, and the EO2U version of the fight multiplied its health by *16*. Went from 4500 to 72000 Now that's a bit unfair, since you can shave almost half its health ofd via the bombs in the arena before the fight, but... man. Bosses get beefy in that game

That's not an honest comparison. EO2 has by far the lowest numbers in the series, lower than even 1's. 2 was made by giving enemies thicc VIT and resistances. Cl;asses deal way more damage in 2U and you have more ways to further boost damage. Plus, the bomb puzzle reduces its HP to about 42300. Oh and the whole "Juggernaut gives you a buff that doubles your damage" thing. I think just looking at numbers completely ignores the fundamental differences between the games like force and damage.

@@antant6217 I said it's not entirely honest. I will concede and say i didn't really "learn" the game that well, but also part of that's because I was using the story party, and the comhination of story party and the bosses made me give up on playing the game on Expert when I got to Harpuia (played on Picnic til I finishted the story). That party you have to squeeze every bit of damage out you can because the only dedicated attacker is just kinda There until you get Force Boost. That combined with beefy bosses normally would be fine (EOU&5 have beefy bosses but i like those games), but with almost every boss having a "Kill X in Y turns or suffer" mechanic made me not like it as much With a Classic party, maybe i'd enjoy it more, but... man. I didn't exactly like 2U. I hope a replay will make me realize something, but first impressions made me not wanna return, so far the first EO game i felt that way about For all I know, Juggernaut's the least of the offenders there, but as cheesy as it is, I never exactly forgave Scylla & Esbat in 2U

@@KazanmaTheSilverWind i think story team is weird. The game even gives Chloe support when she's a pretty good dps and Arianna can hit really hard too. Survivalist is an unassuming class, ranging from "pretty good" damage to "the highest damage output in the series". I think EOU did it better by giving the player a simple team that's easy to understand. Story team is very good and deals good damage but it's pretty unorthodox which is weird for the more casual-focused story mode.

I've seen classes do some fucked up shit in 2U, but I never found put how to apply it when I finally got to play it Survivalist I know is messed up but i'll be real I didn't know what was super good my first time around Arianna... I'll be real I mostly knew Chase Order. Which is nice but idk her thing otherwise Ailing/Guard Slash were nice, I'll admit. Assuming I could get an ailment, doesn't help a ton against Artelinde But admittedly this is the first time I felt like I couldn't "skate by" in an EO ge my first time. Like, in eo4/5, finding the super big damage strats with otherwise unassiming classes was a reward, here it feels kind of Required. Like I had to know the good shit or else I can't progress. Like, I'm in EO1's b19f right now. And with my party (Landy, Medic, DH, Alc, Trou), the game's turned painfully easy. But if I didn't know the super good stuff (Allslash, Caduceus, Immunize, Divinity if max'd early) I'd still be okay, even if it'd still be difficult. I don't quite get that vibe from 2U Again, I hope a replay will change my mind. But the bosses being like that kinda killed my interest in it
