For me, my done goofed moment was in the first floor in Ginningagap when I cornered myself between two Boar Captains on Hard mode and they were still Red. When I realized I was cornered I went to use a warp thread except I RAN OUT. That was the start of a FORTY-SEVEN TURN MARATHON! Don't ask me how I managed to win and keep everyone alive I was crazy lucky.

I only really had trouble on a first go with the Ones that could status you. Hit taker beast when built properly just don’t care about damage and it makes the rest of your party not either. Now getting your best panicked was good cause for panic on the otherhand

The amount of times I’ve heard this theme is just excessive. Anytime I found a F.O.E., I had the amazing idea to beat the shit out of it, even when resources were running thin. If the danger’s right in front of me, and I’m the Fafnir Knight, what would you expect me to do? Hearing the F.O.E. theme in any other Etrian Odyssey causes me to nearly shit myself, though.

Funnily enough find the mode without the more emphasized story easier. Hit taker beast can make for an absolutely impenetrable defensive core. Oh you wanna hit the entire party nah nah nah you only hit the tank for each member. Oh and they reduce damage the first hit heal after the second and third and block the 4th and only take full damage from the 5th. Oh and now they are back to full hp after a heal guard immediately next turn from the protector

ChickenMcDarkness Something similar happened to me, one of those Floating eyes things killed everyone but flavio, and he got 2 levels above everyone else, later, both him and Arianna survived the 3rd boss,making him get an advantage of 3-4 levels and arianna; 2-3 levels above the others.
