It's easy to imagine Mae West deciding to showcase the talents of a brilliant woman of color. The lyrics of the song are edgy and probably pushed some buttons back then, but both West and Scott would have wanted those buttons to be pushed. Scott was a great pianist, singer, and above all, performer. She knew how to grab that camera in a vise grip and not let go. Amazing to watch her. That smile gets me every time!

@camadi69 because in the black community there are so few books, information on our history where young people can see. We must make sure that OUR people know OUR history. Yes thats true other races should know about them but in my opinion because she was married to a White man years ago most whites know about these great artists .. They know more about Black history and Culture then most blacks. thats why I say EVERY black family must know about all these great people. not being racist
