They tend to do that to us, when we decide that they don't own us. When we stand up for our dignity it's something they can not digest. Some Black People have to understand that we don't have to live by their perception of us, we are a dynamic Race and they know it as well as we do. Dignity, Class, Style, Grace, Self Worth, and Standing Up for yourself and others to be treated right, breaks barriers.

@@reginaphalange9417 Well, Americans nowadays do say "biracial" and "multiracial". And in the olden days they used to say "mulatto" (half black), and in some places they went as far as calling people "quadroon" (quarter black) and "octoroon" (one eighth black). But the racist one-drop rule came about which said that even if you had only one drop of black blood, you were to be classified as black. That's why there were and are so many obviously mixed race (and even basically white) people who called themselves black and were called black.

Are any of you commentators from the Big Apple???? Well I want you to know that Hazel Scott & Co. were the houseband at NYC's eastside EL MOROCCO CLUB. (early 70s). I was attending college full time & moonlighting as a cabbie. As soon as I saw her name at EL MOROCCO , I made it my business to attend a performance. I went back several times and always enjoyed Hazel's performances. I m bragging. I knew that the great Scott was history in the making.

I have known about Hazel Scott for a very long time in spite of my age...if a person is really a jazz fan how could they not have heard of her.? I am a true lover of Black history when I come across someone I know nothing of which is rare, I research that person and learn all I can and share any new found knowledge with others. Black people excel in so many fields we are the most amazing people on the planet in spite of how often we are discriminated aganist, denied justice having our culture stolen and sold back to us..we originate so much we just can not be held back, once we touch anything we do it so well while making it appear easy. This is the reason we are the most hated people in the world. The rest of the world won't change and we don't care. God created us first we are his masterpiece for that I am thankful so I smile😊😊
