Ah, yes, a nice run through the countryside. For any American player of ETS 2, the sound of the DAF XG+ is somewhat comforting and familiar, but then again, its MX-series engine is a Euro-specific version of the same engine one might find on a typical Kenworth or Peterbilt.

Remember that not only has there been a rework to Switzerland, there is also the reworked Rhineland region in Germany which has been added in 1.50 and also the Scania Test Centre to look at!

Great episode, Zilla! I was using those digital mirrors for a while, too, but I ended up just forcing myself to get better at swinging the head view left and right and checking the regular mirrors. I play on a controller, though, so having that right stick might make it easier than using a wheel. Of course, the Holy Grail would be one of those sweet, sweet, head-tracking rigs.

Yes, I tried an open source head tracking system a while back and it was quite good. But it required me to activate two webcams to record video and that was a bit of a pain to do every time I wanted to record a video. It'd be nice to have one of those professional ones.

Interesting feedback on the digital mirrors. They're used in real life to improve fuel economy by reducing drag. The external cameras are way smaller than the traditional wing mirrors. They do make the trucks look odd though, almost like a face with the ears removed 😂. Another great video.

I can definitely see how they'd be helpful in real life. In the game the issue is that your peripheral vision is more limited.

@@ZillaBlitzPC yeah but as you said in the video, if you change the seating position in the F4 menu, you'll probably find a preferable viewing angle.

@@samcattell1150 Yes, I messed around with it a bit before but it seemed a bit angled, but I'm sure if I mess around with it more I can get something the way I like. I'm thinking to switch trucks as soon as I get the Test Drive achievement though. :)

Im sure there is a way to adjust your field of view, maybe try it to see more in front of you. I know In farming simulator there is a option then you can see more to the right and left

Yes, there are options for it in game too, and I was playing around with them a bit. I didn't have enough time to refine them enough, and then realized that I probably wouldn't be owning this particular truck long enough to really want to spend a lot of time on it. :)

@@ZillaBlitzPC Europe and Middle-East were just released! The Great Steppe has been out for a while. RusMap is still in limbo because, sadly, the main mapper for that mod passed away. EDIT: Beyond for ETS2 from TerraMaps is out now too, combing Road to Asia and Road to Africa.

@@ZillaBlitzPC There is a version of RusMap out right now but supposedly it's just a version change and has issues right now. I won't start working on updating my ETS2 mod list until RusMap is stable. GMC Logistics is testing it in map combos currently, seeing if they can fix any issues. Also it still needs a new RC to ProMods.
