I am an amazon FBA seller, my product have amazon recommended badge (which really isn't that big of a deal). Let me tell ya, while amazon front end to customers is smooth as a baby's butt and works perfectly, as well as their support. Their backend for us sellers is a nightmare (it has gotten better now), it's hard to learn, full of bugs and support really hard to reach (there is no live support, it's a forum ticket system at the time of this writing). I'm sure you can call someone if you are a big seller but if you are just starting, oh boy you are in for a treat. (Not in a good way)

Facebook also did that, pushing for ads at least $100 per day. The ads they told me to make were TRASH. I stopped answering their calls after a while.

Thanks - great video! I was approved on Amazon Handmade and I feel like I am studying to become a Neurosurgeon - it's so confusing-lol! I will try Etsy too. Do you think if I include a small 'gift' with the Amazon Handmade, this could make the difference in being able to charge a little less on Etsy?

My own experience of this is I sell on Amazon, Etsy and also Ebay. Yes the set up for amazon handmade is quite complicated and my hit and miss internet connection made the verification zoom very frustrating, I almost gave up! I'm so glad I didn't though. When I first started putting up the listings I have from my etsy account onto amazon, not much was happening, I used some ads and even though I got a sale, I was spending as much as I was getting if not more. Then after some time I realised that maybe my products weren't in the right category, (I sell mainly greeting cards) and it turns out they weren't. As soon as I changed the category into the correct one, added some more info to my listings, they began to sell. I still don't sell everything in my amazon shop but there's certain items that sell quite a lot. Now I sell a similar amount if not more on Amazon vs Etsy. I think it's worth going into, especially if you have a unique type of product that isn't on Amazon very much.

I'm wanting to eventually move into etsy or Amazon. But right now I want to stay local. Or at least within my state. What's the best option. Just Facebook business page? I do customized gift boxes for her. Teacher, nurses, nieces, sister, mom, grandma, aunt, friends etc. Homemade candles, hair accessories, journals, pens, keychain, lanyards, room scenting spray. I sell well within a word of mouth of amount friends amd family ..they spread the word. I'm just nervous to branch too far.

I’m fairly certain it’s waived, because you’re Amazon handmade. You have to apply to be accepted in Amazon handmade though. Hope this info helps!
