Some years back I had tickets to see Etta at the Chicago House of Blues but she canceled due to illness. A few months later, she passed away. My heart was broken. To have seen her perform in person would have been a dream come true. You are so missed, Miss Etta. Your passing was our loss.

Sorry to hear that. Etta is fantastic in this. So powerful! She would have been a great one to see and hear live. I had a similar experience with the great jazz singer Mel Torme. Joe Williams filled in & he was very good, but not what I was looking forward to. I also missed Ella Fitzgerald who stopped performing after losing her legs to diabetes. She died soon after that. So great that these videos exist on KZbin. A real treasure trove that never was until a few years ago.

I had that same experience on 2010, when Amy Winehouse came to my country to do 4 concerts. I didn't come to her last one in a city next to mine 'cause I had some personal issues, and then I promised to myself I would Go see her on The next time she would've come to Brazil. And in a very few months later she passed away.
