Salute to Our Founding Father , Mr Lee Kuan Yew. Thank you very much. I am proud to be a Singaporean. Without you we will not be where we are now. Deeply appreciate and respect. R.I.P
A great reflection of how far we've come. Thankful that we have received quality education to make us who we are today in the global landscape. It's a competitive world out there:)

:) I am singaporean. U know education is very important in singapore... though i was not academic (which i didn't even know then), i tried to put in much efforts in study ( cos i had assumed many people were just like me, as long as i put in as much effort as them, i will succeed too).. in the end, i studied too hard and had depression, i remember since young i had poor memory, i often had to study many times and over and over again the same page or the same sum like in maths.... i studied so hard until one day i could even feel a sharp pain in my brain. Now after viewing this video, i begin to realize that all this while i was stupid.... stupid to have studied so hard which was never meant for non-academic person like me.. True, not able to make it to NUS or NTU meant that i will never have a good govt job. Since graduating from poly in 1988 until now i am still working tough rotating shift jobs..... of cos only the smartest in JC and poly will enter NUS and NTU which will be offered good govt jobs and thus preventing smart people from joining opposition and opposing the govt... this was designed by our late Mr Lee Kuan Yew himself in the way to use singapore very tough education system aka elitist system to discover the brightest smartest students and give them the best education in NUS, scholarship and good govt jobs...but on 2nd thought, this was actually good for singapore especially the early yrs as a new nation.... ensuring political stability and security in sg.... in the end, i only blame myself for not born academic, maybe and hopefully my next life will be so... :)
singapore has many homeless too. not only hk. their problem was not caused by their version of 'democracy'. they do not have universal suffrage, so the voters cannot put pressure on their 'gamen' to do socialist policies. hk is an more extreme from of capitalism. their so-called leader leung knows that, he said if there is one man one vote, the gamen will be captured by the lower income to do some wealth distribution. what he has is economic development, but no social development. it won't work. you are building a contry, NOT just an economy. leung is just a beijing dog. he is not fit to lead. he knows he cannot be democratically elected.

+lee lc but at least Singapore economic is better than HK, many talented in HK want to find a job in Singapore ,if you want to have a simple life,Singapore is a.good place, but even you want to live in simple, all daily prodtucts are overpriced ,we just want to live, democracy can't give you food and housing, and pls study the core value of democracy, minoority follows the majority, is it really a fair system. which can satisfy all people needs ,you can think about it

run for cover face the music

the program people are just too modest. highlighting sg's achievements, but downplaying their electronics and manufacturing industries. they only touch briefly on high costs of living and educational stress. taiwan started fun learning, in the end, they have fun but learnt nothing. yet so many sgs are pushing for less education stress, they want to do away with psle, and the latest changes to the psle grading system is merely cosmetics. it shows the milister has caved in to populist pressures. if lky was alive, he will definitely have objected to this change. however, streaming too early may disadvantage slower learners and students from lower income groups who can't afford good tutors, further amplifying the effects of wealth inequality. thks for the kind compliments, tell us how we can do better.

王登程 the wealth gap is v real, and we need to close the gap. never say, no choice. its just an excuse. even prcs are trying to manage the poor leech divide. i know what we have. you can't say its nature. a large part of it is nurture. in the end, we will have to pay for a permanent underclass - in terms of juvenile delinquencies and crimes, if we don't intervene. its not the economy, we are also building a society. i thank you for your understanding of our place. since you know its so difficult, we should train our troops in taiwan, and make sure hk/prc return our stolen terrexes.
