lol, right, but there are several songs from his albums that are much more accessible for mere mortals to learn. These Etudes are killer.

If nothing else--and surely it's not just this--you raise the bar for what we can accomplish on an instrument. That's no small feat. I would never have thought of some of the texture you apply here. That 4.5 minutes was highly valuable to me. Thanks.

your style is so calming to listen to, but yet it still has a power to it that keeps you at the edge of your seat. i applaud your musical abilities and i hope to hear more from you.

Julian, i mean this in the kindest way possible...you're from outer-space. From outer-space, and on a different level in outer-space. Other than that, i'm at a complete loss of PG-rated words.

I've got this fine until 1:33 fingerpicking, and I can probably even hybrid pick it with some work...and then it's just out the window. how the hell is he picking with that kind of dexterity while recruiting all three of his other fingers? it's like he's changing his picking style completely for these faster hybrid passages, eliminating all wrist action, and just using his fingers to manipulate the pick. that's...gonna take some work.

I'm going to transcribe this deal for piano, but (at least at first glance) there isn't really any improv going on...and it's not like he's using crazy chords and weird intervals. The opening is just an C#m triad (2nd inv.) with an ostinato outlining the m9 chord, then Am (CM works too) with the ostinato outlining the triad. That said, it's a tasteful etude and serves its purpose. Also, I'm skeptical of 'gifts', but I will say: "practice is not the same as enlightenment."
