Loved the discussion, especially the bits about muting. As I've mentioned before, I'm revisiting the absolute beginner level pieces but paying attention to muting this time, which I find considerably boosts their degree of difficulty as I have to override my muscle memory of those pieces in order to add the muting.

Glad it was helpful. Although sometimes beware of taking it too far. When you choose an aesthetic for a piece you don't want it to be overly strict, it should feel natural as well. Sometimes, muting on classical guitar isn't even necessary since the attack of new notes is so loud the sustain so low.
