Really? Turkey was only a few years away from joining the EU. But our friend Erdogun made some strange political and economical moves. Which put some things on hold. Erdogun is playing poker and bluffs. He tends to have a role as dictator. Later the S-400 poker game to force the US to deliver some military systems, like patriots. Which made some things clear and Turkey was refused the F-35 program. Syria and lots of other small issues. If you want to join, you will have to sync. Erdogun did not want to sync.

The fact that a NATO member plans to leave says it all. In reality that organization doesn't provide any protection against any militarily perceived enemy , in fact the main purpose of NATO is to bully any nation unwilling to follow the American doctrine, which in turn means losing independence and submit itself to access to funds to the worst lender in the world. In a way is like consolidating your debts with the only consequence that your credit rate will be damaged, which it is what put you in debt in the first place. Turkey is taking a very courageous stand against its "benefactors" and it is showing the way to several other nations whom are members of this criminal enterprise. More sooner than later BRICS will create its own currency and the dollar hegemony will be left in the dust , created by the rest of the countries to embrace a new and better way to relate with each other. Erdogan is a good leader for Turkey. The future of the world is in technology and it appears that both Turkey and Iran are the rising stars in their region. They, along with Asian countries, will propel the world to a whole new technological level and leave the EU and US in their wake. Both the EU and US don't have adequate tech manpower resources that can compete in the world in the future. With that limitation, without imports of skilled tech cadre, the EU and US can wish all they want but at the end of the day, there is little they can do without the human resources to power it forward. The abundance of a highly skilled tech workforce is the secret sauce that will propel China to be the world leader in most tech sectors from aerospace to semiconductors.

The only reason Turkey is in the NATO is the fact that the US wanted encircle Russia in the Black Sea which backfired lately anyway . This was one reason the US wanted Ukraine and Georgia to join the NATO as well . Of course this wasn't the only reason The US also wanted to exploit the natural resourses of both Ukraine's and Russia's and to make this easier to split Russia up in at least 4 smaller entities . Turkey not just covers the whole south cost of the Black Sea but also controls the Dardanellen and the Bosporus .
