There should have been a secret path for Egypt if you go Coptic since historically there was a minority of Coptic people living in Alexandria and still do, about 10% of Egypt is Coptic.

Eu4 has a lot of these but Suez Canal in 1500s might be the single most ahistorical thing they have added. Like that would have INSANE consequences on the modern world and the progression of history.

About canal: actually, basic idea and works are ancient. I mean, Homer-era ancient. It was linking Red Sea to Nile Delta, but closed and destroyed in 8th century to prevent it being used to supply rebels in Arabia.

1:44- it technically came about in domination, just wasn't used anywhere except for custom nation ideas, which would be fine if the Domination Custom Ideas weren't unfinished. I am not joking, they literally still have left the domination custom nation ideas unfinished. I made a forum bug post about it. You can go into your Eu4 game files and look at the text file and laugh as you realize it's entirely commented out, with some national ideas using the wrong modifiers and signs despite the modifiers existing in the code. (Great Project upgrade time idea reduces national tax, the Idea that is supposed to prevent estates from getting mad from revoking privileges has the sign the wrong way, so it currently makes the loyalty hit from privilege revocation worse, etc.)

When in a peace deal, hold shift and left click on the more money button to automatically go to the max amount they're willing to give.

We may yet get the opportunity to rename the city to Lebronstantinople. The building of the Suez canal will significantly impact Lebron's legacy as it allows for easier access from China to Jordan and the Jordan river. As we know, anything that is good for China, is good for Lebron.
