So there is another exploit which can save any advisor from being killed by an event. Whenever an event forces you to kill your level 5 advisor, you can always hire a cheap level 1 replacement advisor right before accepting the event. This way your newly recruited advisor is now the target of the event and killed, allowing you to immediately rehire your high level advisor you replaced.

The big nations pretty much cheat anyway with lucky nations being forced on, so they are more powerful then any other nation by magic bonuses.

Some of the achievements are near impossible without exploits though, even top players struggle for them. DDRJake only barely managed Saladin's Legacy and even he used a couple of minor exploits like queuing up loads of units to skip manpower draining events. And he's arguably the best player who doesn't (generally) use exploits

The 'Are you sure?' confirmation when reassigning a general between armies will let you assign the general even if he dies while the confirmation is up. If this happens, the general will be removed from your general list and take up no leader slots, but he'll continue to lead your army as normal. In fact, from what I've seen the general in question becomes completely immortal so long as you keep him assigned to that army (specifically, he becomes immune to old age and I haven't seen such a general die in battle yet). This happened by chance halfway through an ironman Spain game of mine, and though my general wasn't too amazing this has the power to make Albania games and 100 tradition general events much more powerful.

I don't have Cradle of Civilization (and have been finishing up a game from a previous patch anyways), so I haven't been able to test it. I would guess that it'd work the same, though. If you want to test it for yourself, you can go into an non-ironman game, set up the confirmation window, and use console commands to kill the leader to get a zombie general easily.

Like how you can run an ai country into 10000 ducats of debt yet they can still operate normally and field fucking mercenaries with that no money to just annoy you (because screw punishing their blatant bankruptcy or lack of manpower from being drekked) .

While you are right in that people don't understand ZOC very well and assume AI is cheating in some cases when it's not, AI was still cheating with ZOC at least until the persia patch & cradle. Paradox admitted it in the Persia patchnotes and they have worded it like "We now kind of know where it is coming from and have made steps to reduce the chance of it happening" so not even they are sure they fixed it.

I believe this can be considered an exploit if you use it extensively, like Reman did in this video. Using it to your benefit just like the AI is not exactly an exploit, but using it against every other nation in the world aside from rivals is a bit far. If Paradox were smart, they'd make it so you can only manually befriendly like 10 other nations in the world, though such a restriction seems rather limiting in its own right.

You can also easily get "infinite" amout of janissaries as the Ottomans from one state. Same trick as the metropolitan mentioned in this video. Though you still have to pay the 10 mil points per regiment. This is basically 1k manpower for 10 mil points, since most damage is taken by the front line. Or when you get to high enough army profesionalism you get those 1k men from disbanding.

As a huge history nerd, I often repeatedly change the starting date to see changes in kings, borders, etc. In one of me playthroughts, I somehow made centers of reformation totally disappear from the game(it said they were already created but they weren't on the map and didn't convert provinces). Also, the only countries that became protestant/reformed were 1 province minors. Maybe it's because i didn't exit the game until reformation happened?

Karol Adamczak yeah got the same bug in my austrian HRE game. Only one center appeared, and then reformed never pop out. Also no country converting to protestant/reformed.

Yes this happened in my sweden game aswell! no reformed nation except provence but they converted back and the only protestant is aachen and switzerland and the year is 1736 which is kinda sad cause i love protestantism.

The 1821 exploit with Austria getting to claim unlawful territory and additional provences being in the HRE has been in the game for quite some time. Even since I started playing the game they haven't patched it.

The 1820-back to 1444 still works in 1.28, in fact there is even more weird BS that comes with it such as about fifty years into the game, you will discover random provinces in Mexico, Brazil, and Canada, then a few years later you will discover a single province in Japan as well as Ming and the east Indies. I found this out on my own because I love looking at the historical blobs before I start a new game.

Reman, you forgot a poland exploit, if you start at 1447 on Ironman as Poland you can dodge the elective monarchy which is really helpful for the achievement for the absolute monarchy

There is another exploit related to the start date one. This one involves creating a custom nation in 1800, saving it, then going to like 1450. Suddenly you now have cannons that have the cannon tech in 1800 but it’s 1450. They still cost a lot but having cannons like that at the start is powerful.

Julis I did an Academical game a while back, should still work. I got really lucky and got the event that makes your neighbors have +20 opinion (the insult one or something) so I was able to get the Ottomans' opinion of me over 100 so they were not hostile and now friendly, gladly supporting my independence. However, my original idea should still work, I just never tested it out since I got lucky. Get someone to support your independence, anyone. I did Genoa, they probably won't be much help though. Split a 1k stack off your army and send it to Constaninople. When the Ottomans declare war, one day before they reach Constantinople you declare war. They will aid your army and hopefully siege Constantinople. If not you will just have to take some loans to siege it. Have your army in the south occupy all provinces in the south so the Ottomans don't get any. Annex Byz. Ottomans will hate you but won't declare war immediately. Try to grab some powerful allies. Improve relations with Austria. Eventually Ottomans and Venice will war, jump on that and take one of their northern provinces so you can join the HRE. The Ottomans will hopefully declare on you and won't factor in Austria's allies or Austria, so they will have to face your allies and the HRE. They won't last long and will likely do it again later, so just keep punishing them each time until you are strong enough to go on the offensive. Helps to ally the Papal Controller so your side gets the crusade buff.

You can also get negative points in custom nation by setting all the levels to zero. You'll also have to sacrifice 1 NI to maintain the negative points. Also keep a balance between DIP/MIL/ADM or it'll go positive.

I have found a bug that if you are a tributary and you give land to your vassal in a peace deal the aggressive expansion actually goes to your overlord not you. I have made a super coalition vs the ming with this

I think I found a small bug too: If your moral is at lowest (because of not paying for armies) and you use your milpoints to let garrison fight an enemy seiging your fortress they will not deplete and you get infinite garrisons! (thou I dont know if its worth the mil points ;))

Ally Hungary (they are usually attainable, if they rival you or reach the diplo relations limit- restart) and Albania ASAP. Then call them into an offensive war by promising land when the Hungary's truce with Ottomans is over. Foremost- take Edirne and then you should be able to build enough navy to prevent Ottomans crossing from Anatolia in your 2nd war. Tried 2 times- worked 2 times. I had some luck because for the first time Hungary didn't break the alliance with me even though I didn't give him the land I promised him and the 2nd time Ottomans attacked me despite my alliances and I didn't even have to risk losing Hungary as my alliance by not giving him land in a peace-deal. Both Hungary and Albania start with very good generals so your combined forces should be able to beat Ottomans consistently.

1. Ally poland and Hungary 2. Go to war at the right time 3. Take as many greek cores as possible 4. Repeat 2-3 until the ottomans are no longer a threat 5. Eat up balkan and anatolian minors

@Adrian Caine thats not really possible anymore - poland wont let you ally them except they drop one of their relations... which they usually dont it also takes like 3 years to ally hungary, even with the same rivals and a diplo rep. +1 advisor and if you do - in my games - they wont go in an offensive war, because before the peace treaty is over they get into war with poland-lithuania because almost every game they ally the teutonic order - but even if they wouldnt - ottomans will declare war on you (not albania or candir) about 90 % of the time between march 1445 and december 1446 Sooo for the start: 1. Ally Theodoro 2. Improve Relations and ally (atleast 3 of them) trabezont, caraman, crimea, wallachia, albania, serbia - altough they rival you most of the time 3. Start improving relations with hungary and poland 4.1 Wait till the ottomans declare on albania (not happening that often this patch or atleast in my games), because albania is guaranteed by venice and gets austria as ally quite frequently or 4.2 Ally Hungary with improved relations and try to get the ottomans declare war on you or 4.3 Get superlucky and poland does have only 1/ no allies - ally him after improved relations or 4.4 play it safely til the ottomans go into fight with mameluks and they siege down the provinces in egypt - call in wallachia with promise and maybe 1 other nation

I can confirm that the unlimited vision exploit works on all speeds, not just speed 5, for those who can't run or don't want to run on that speed. Even more useful during big wars, although it gets more difficult to do as you lower the speed.

In the date switch exploit, in my game the reformation events fired but no COR formed. Even when Siena went protestant no COR appeared. I quickly converted them and now in 1514 with no protestantism anywhere not sure if a bug unique to my game or because of the exploit.

It used to be even more broken. You could give your heir -99999 in all stats and your ruler 9999 in all stats and you'd still have thousands of designer points to spare. You could basically start the game owning the entire world with a 9999/9999/9999 ruler. They fixed that though. I'm surprised they didn't fix the idea stacking while they were at it.

Should still be quite easy. Divide and conquer. It allows you to generate a real powerbase by i guess 1460/1470 since a good player will most likly killed the f.nations. Dont forget that you are a tribute state so defense is no problem whatsoever

The time line exploit gives the hre the peace of westphallia modifier. No religious wars, no loss in imperial authority for protestant princes. Pretty much easy mode for Austria.

I didn't quite get the exploit with Ming in the HRE...I get how you can expand the HRE to Asia, but why is it possible to add Ming then if they are way too large to be added to the empire? Because I'd very much like to be in the empire in my multiplayer campaign, and since the emperor likes me I wish we could find an exploit to add my country to the HRE.

In the 1820 exploit I couldn't demand from Mecklenberg, however religious leagues centres don't form anyway. Also Genoa starts with their cap in Crimea.

So with the custom idea exploit, what would happen if someone took 10% discipline for all ten traditions, ideas and ambitions? Would they have invincible armies taking 0 damage? And what if they got a discipline guy, 105% discipline, would they heal in every battle?

not exactly, as per the formula on the wiki (assuming that is accurate) the casualties inflicted are divided by military tactics level of the unit being hit, and discipline acts as a multiplier to military tactics level. 100% disc. would increase mil. tact. by 100%, which would correspond to a 50% decrease in casualties taken. Granted, 200% disc. armies would still be insanely difficult to face, but they aren't necesarily invincible

last patch it was working and i dont think they fixed it because the savefile is a document in your pc and acts like a real country ideas so you bassically create a small ironman compatible mod every time you make a custom nation :D As long as heirs and queens with negative stats give you points it should work

They fixed that. Now, any monarch point value outside of 0-6 results in "the custom nation file has been corrupted."

You just forgot (or you were not aware of it) but when you set the time to 1820 and then go back to 1444, the centers of reformation (both protestant and reformed) WILL NOT SPAWN. Furthermore, no country will willingly convert to anything but catholicism. I've tested this through 5 ironman games and it worked every time, allowing me to do some really early and really easy HRE revocatio de privilegium.

That's a paid feature of the DLC. There are many buttons belonging to paid DLC features, I'm not sure why you're complaining about this one specifically.
