In this video titled EU4 A to Z - THIS NATION IS OP But NO ONE Plays It! I do a playthrough as Holstein in Europa Universalis 4 1.34 Lions of The North. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Holstein and I attempt to form conquer the entire region of Scandinavia and become The Holy Roman Emperor as well. So, let's see if I managed to do it! Answer to your Nassau question: the first settlement in the bahamas was called charlestown but was destroyed by pirates and frenchmen and the dutch came and resettled the land. they called it Nassau since the stattholder of the dutch republic was from the house of oranien-nassau in short : yes the nassau in the bahamas is called after the nassau in germany

I wrote this on your last video, but just in case. I have watched every one of your A to Z videos thus far. I just caught up with some of your earlier ones. 1. I question the priorities of my life. 2. Amazing job keeping the series going! Seriously, good stuff. 3. The difference between your earliest runs compared to these latest one are night and day! Omg I was yelling at the screen at times, it was painful watching you lose so often (especially when it was because of a certain pesky hotkey...or hotC :P ) 4. The city of Nassau is indeed called after the von Nassau dynasty, which did rule the area around Wiesbaden in today’s Hesse among other places at some point, but I don’t think the area they ruled over is as large as the game suggests

I don't know if Paradox would ever do this but it'd be nice if you could convert cavalry into infantry, even if it was a fee and it was non reversible. Or if there was a retrain mechanic where you could convert one army unit type into another, but you wouldn't have to lose the manpower.

Nassau in the bahamas is loosely related to that Nassau. It is named after William III. (of Orange-Nassau), king of England, Scotland, Ireland, Stadtholder of the Netherlands, Prince of Orange. He is from the house of Orange-Nassau which is a sideline of House Nassau, which owned the epytomous duchy.

Technically, you could've gone for that new achievement where you have to form Scandinavia and revoke the privilegia by culture switching to Danish. While it's correct that it doesn't allow you to reform Denmark, it does give you the option to form Scandinavia.

Since Hormuz has a diplomatic related achievement, how about a diplomatic-heavy campaign? As Hormuz, become a pacifist great power. That means only colonization and diplomatic vasallisation is allowed. You can't declare wars, and if someone invades you, you cannot take provinces from them (unless they are your cores) o force-vasallise them.

Nassau in the Bahamas indeed does come from the Dutch. Actually a lot of things in the Americas' come from the dutch. The famous Harlem district of New York City is named after the area of Amersterdam of the same name from when the dutch owned New York. (Then as New Amsterdam). Wall street (where the famous Trading Center is, is literally the street that had a wall on it in the old city

I'll probably keep reposting this comment until you do a Germiyan video because i have no idea of you've seen it or not and i hope it helps: For Germiyan in releasables you should do nothing and improve realtions with Mamuluks and hope they will support your independence, they didn't want to in my first run, but in second they did, probably because they were bordering the Ottomans. If you royal marry the ottomans go restart. Once you get Mamuluks to support your independence you should either wait for them to fight someone in the balkans or declare immediately because they will placate your rulers to get you under 50 liberty desire. You may want to make a backup save for war just so you don't have to do a full restart if Mamuluk ai trolls you, also if Ottomans ally Tunis you should probably restart or go all in with mercs to try to hold out until Mamuluks deal with Tunis(although you'll probably go bankrupt this way). Once you win the war you should take Gelibolu, Constantinople, whatever you can in north Anatolia and war reparations and stay as far away from Mamuluks as long possible because you are still not strong enough to fight them and you won't need any allies because you'll still be surrounded by the Ottomans. After that you'll probably fight theodoro, crimea, georgia or circassia depending on their allies and then probably even more weakened Ottomans if Austria got Hungary and declared on them, otherwise you wait until Mamuluks declares on the Ottomans and if the Ottomans declare on you then mercs and debt it is, after that second war you should start looking for allies to prevent Mamuluks and Austria from declaring on you and the rest is up to you.
