Thanks *so* much for doing a demo of this. I added it to my cart last week and was about to buy it buy there was no walkthrough, so I got cold feet. I contacted Eastwest and they said they had one "coming." @7:51 nice demo. I was going to buy Voices of Soul, but this seems better. I really wanted to hear the sustains, but the wordbuilder seems OK too.

Thanks for watching. It really sounds good with a controller and my video didn’t do the audio justice (leaving my mic on), however it’s worth noting that if you get a ComposerCloud subscription, you can have them all. You could then buy the ones you prefer. There’s a lot to this library and I’m sure EW official walkthrough will explore in more detail. I will look at the sustains and post a video of these on Instagram on Thursday.

I just now subscribed to East West’s Composer Cloud Gold and I’m still trying to navigate my way through this plugin. This, to me, looks like something that could take minutes to figure out! Maybe hours! I mean, the Wordbuilder feature? Amazing, but it’s something I need more time with before I implement anything into what I’m working on. BTW, thanks for the review.

Chris Neufeld thanks for watching. Have fun with it. I have no affiliation with EW, I’m just like you, a user of their ComposerCloud. I also use and am using more of Spitfire Audio products. They’re a UK-based company and worth looking into. I have other videos looking at various sound libraries too.

Thanks for your great review. I feel the quality of the vocals are fantastic. The general oohs, aahs, solo phrases etc are spot on. However, the Wordbuilder is somewhat disappointing. The pre-programmed stock phrases don’t sound great so what hope do I have to make my own sound anywhere near convincing? On the trailer the word “You” sounds correct and is repeated many times but when I play it, it sounds like Ooh. Not sure why that is! By contrast, Realivox Blue’s Wordbuider is much better. It’s a shame Realitone didn’t produce this type of library (or licence its own Wordbuilder to East West).

ShiningHourPop with a few tweaks of the phonetics you can adapt the words. It’s a bit trial and error sometimes. Thanks for watching the video. I’m going to. Create something unique with these sounds to showcase them a bit more.

Thanx for the review, Euan. You've gotten me a little closer to getting off the fence. I understand that in wordbuilder, all three of the female voices are employed. In your opinion, how well does the wordbuilder function as a soloist (no harmonization)?
@euansmithmusic5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim Corona, the word builder is only used in Multi settings, multiple voices. To my knowledge, solo word builder hasn’t been created. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and subscribing. 😁
@jeromeweaver8095 жыл бұрын
Can it do solo only also?
@euansmithmusic5 жыл бұрын
Some of the patches use solo voices. Each vocalist was recorded as a soloist using a Leslie mic, whereas the rest of the collection features the 3 vocalists recorded together.

Very interesting soft. I have a question. My midi controller is Casio Privia which don't even have pitch control wheel. I must have it to use this vocal soft with100% ability?
@euansmithmusic4 жыл бұрын
Shinobu Ito yes you do, but if your midi keyboard has any sliders or modulation wheel, you can map this and it’ll work fine.

Thanks for the overview, very helpful. I would like to request that you toggle off your mic when you are playing since your fingers are making loud noises on the keys. On my speakers, its louder than the articulation attacks which are important. I think it will increase the quality of the review and experience. Thanks.

Is there anyone here at all who can explain how to get it to work????? It's so frustrating! First you have to sign up with 3 or 4 different websites before you can actually download it. After that I open an empty Play 6, try to go to my Hard drive to load the Singers into Play 6. The download created about 8 different folders, no idea which one to take, so I have tried one or two, but nothing happens at all! It's sitting on my desktop and Hard drive doing absolutely nothing.
@euansmithmusic4 жыл бұрын
+DirkJan Ranzijn have you downloaded the installer and made sure to point it in the direction where you stored the libraries? I’m not an employee for EW but I’m sure their team can help you on live-chat. Plus, you load Play as the plugin in your chosen DAW (Logic or Cubase etc) then it should load in the patches. Good luck.

@euansmithmusic5 жыл бұрын
Hi mmane257, far as I know it’s female voices only in this library, certainly in the time I’ve spent with it. The ranges are quite deep, but no way the depth of male voices. Voices of Soul on the other hand might help you. Thanks for watching this video, please give it a like and subscribe to know when I next upload videos to help make your music masterpiece 😁

Seriously. This is not worth the money. It really sounds bad compared to other vocal libraries out there. There are much better libraries for phrases, and all the uhh, ahh, ihh etc. pitched sound sets, well nothing out there really sounds like a real vocal recording. I have yet to see any "playable" vocal sounds that really wowas me so I'm not too surpriced, but I have heard lots that sounds better than this
@euansmithmusic4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts. There’s definitely a challenge for people to record a vocal that’s dynamic and expressive enough, whilst also being balanced and coherent. I think for effects, these vocals are good, but yes, a long way to go. I use their subscription service ComposerCloud so you can dabble before you buy outright.
@mrdali674 жыл бұрын
@@euansmithmusic I actually saw another demo how you can write in the words you want it to sing, wich is kinda cool and wich I wasn't aware of that it could do, but considdering the amount of time used in this process, I still think the quality do not hold up to a real vocal recording, where I personly think the quality of eg. a TC Helicon is at least as good as the software, wich makes me think why bother with all the work when I can just record the midi notes of the harmonics and have the Helicon do the work as you would do in a live situation. The Helicon don't either match a real vocal recording, but its easy to use and can be used in both in the studio for scetches or live when you don't have 4 backing chicks available, pun intended. What I think is interesting tho is, even when seeing how advanced libraries like this and other popular Voice software has becomming, we havn't really moved that much in the last 30-35 years since Digitech released their Vocalist. The sample rates and bit depth have moved up and yes a Helicon sound much better, but playable samples of choirs doesn't really sound a lot better as 25 years back when we had moved up to "CD" quality sampling. Its another thing when your working with samples of full bpm correct phraces that you try not to tune too much from the original of the sample.
