This is probably the best video out there for tethered crashes. I agree that seems to be saving your wheel from considerably worse damage most of the time, and it doesn't get under your legs that much during the falls !
@thefoss7212 жыл бұрын
Dude those tracks you go on are so sick but super gnarly… I love rock crawling and can’t wait to get the Eagle for those super hard landings, someone said the new version has much more torque so it’ll be interesting to see how the new firmware has upgraded the performance Thanks for the clips man!
@connectvanplans2 жыл бұрын
Man you weren't kidding, the tether is essential for where you're riding. As long as it doesn't end up dragging you off a cliff! Lots of pedal clips and hard to navigate or predict obstacles that can have a rider heading instantly to the ground. Anyway, this was cool to see - thanks for sharing.
@Kay0Bot2 жыл бұрын
Yea I started riding blacks, and it's a terrifying thought , being dragged. More terrifying is having euc smash into someone down the way.
@connectvanplans2 жыл бұрын
@@Kay0Bot Oh yeah, didn't even think about that. Never a good time to send a 65+ lb missile on a collision course with some hapless hiker and their dog. Well, EUC riders are still a very small minority in the field. Hopefully us riders will always be smart in our risk-taking to keep the good times rolling.
@russellzauner2 жыл бұрын
@@Kay0Bot it's my guess that tethers will become mandatory in more populated spaces. I am working on getting a public initiative written up about EUC on equestrian trails to see if I can get it into the next voting round on local measures. We're *definitely* leaving less of a footprint than horse traffic. That would put us onto a LOT of maintained trails that have no other wheeled vehicles allowed on them.

I've just started getting into this sort of riding - and loving it! Seriously thinking I need a tether. The Cibi is currently out of stock, but there are others similar with prices all over the place. What did you pay for it?
@wattssingletrack88742 жыл бұрын
If cibi is out of stock just keep an eye on it and buy it once it’s back in stock it’s cheaper than tow wee brand and works better. Other next best brand is the “tow wee” and they like 45-50$ vs the cibi is 35$ or whatever

What are your thoughts on riding with a leash ? Have you ever come off at around 70km/h while wearing it ? has the weight of the wheel pulled you along with it ? Has the leash caused any injury to yourself ?
@wattssingletrack88742 жыл бұрын
If you watch the entire 5 min video you’ll see I think 3x separate tether wrecks and it saves me wheel in each time. I 100% won’t ride without a tether

I'm not trying to take anything away from your enjoyment or skill by what I'm going to say. But can I ask, in what way is this better than just owning a mountain bike? Seems like you would be riding the same sort of trails just maybe on a MTB you'd get a more speed, exercise and a bit less crashing 😅. Nonetheless, I do have to say that you have some serious balls sending that thing and you are clearly good at riding it? Driving it? (Not sure what this is considered as). Very cool!
@wattssingletrack88742 жыл бұрын
So a mtb doesn’t really compare, they can’t climb hills and do everything an euc can at the same kind of speeds. And an euc is extremely laborus and a lot of exercise. Easily burn 1600-2000 calories in a 2 hour ride. Dirt biking used to be my all time fav thing but since eucs I could never go back as I can ride my euc anywhere a bike can plus OHV trails so best of everything for me personally. I appreciate the comment and questions!!
