I just saw the film yesterday. I’ve never been as amused and frightened in the same 96 minutes as this. Thank you

Saw the film when it came out. Probably one of the few. I was 15 and thought it was amazing. So glad it’s getting the attention it deserves. Being from Chicago I cant remember which either Siskel or Ebert objected to the nudity and how it portrayed the Kennedys. I thought it was just a bullshit objection.

I love this film! The first time I got to see it was thanks to a sneak preview of "Life of Brian" in Westwood. Way too many people showed up for the 8pm screening, so the producers conferred, then said they'd add a screening at midnight. And we could see the movie currently showing at 10pm: Winter Kills. Best Double Feature Ever! And probably the only screening that was a sell-out.

the battlefield scene between Jeff and Sterling Hayden was funny because they were almost in JAWS as Hooper and Quint

Saw it on HBO back in the 70s . Cult Classic . I guess you could say it was ahead of its time . I will do a quote from it that sums up the film and it is not a spoiler alert : “ Rather humorous I thought , with a point ! “

I watched it on Amazon prime last night. I haven't seen it since it came out and thought it would seem almost new again with just barely remembered scenes. Nope. Came back vividly. It deserved to be bigger.

I happened to be in New York City on business the week it was in the theater and I saw it. I suppose I was one of the "ten" people Jeff said saw it. Actually, the placed was packed. I enjoyed it...

In so many ways this film was before it's time... and it holds up well in viewing in 2019 as a result. GREAT documentary!

Heard they change the identity of the killer from the book to the movie. That true? Who’s the killer in the book?

Thank you for posting this documentary. I read the book when it was published and rushed to see the movie in '79. I thought the lack of promotion for the movie at the time was strange. I guess I now know why.

For a woman always typecast as bitchy, vindictive types, Belinda Bauer seems surprisingly sweet.

I love this! I remember my dad telling me about some of this stuff as a kid so it's interesting to watch NOW knowing what I know now (my dad is Regis, cop at the end of the movie and the last credited actor).

I knew your dad when he made this movie a few years before it came out. Always wondered what happened to this movie.

Fascinating. I'm just about to see this film for the first time since it came out. A wondeful film that I and my friends loved mainly because anything by Richard Condon cannot fail. From Westerns to the Mafia to the Borgia's.....what a guy.
Does anybody know the name of the background music when Elizabeth Taylor makes her entrance?

No clue what this flick was or wanted to be, but clearly, its director has a screw loose someplace now. Maybe two or three? This ended up to be a COMEDY???? I guess audiences weren't laughing -- for the one single weekend this flick was shown in a theater in NY and LA back then.

i think he was trying to do it like Kubrick did Dr Strangelove, just couldn't quite pull it off. its still interesting though

The Kennedy-Corleone family!! Amazing when art imitates life, and vice versa.

I saw it in a theater as a kid so it did see release but seems like one of those movies that didn't translate well from the source material. In the right hands this could have been a great film.
