I am from South Cotabato, the home of the T' Boli, and I can say that this performance is verging on the authentic. All they lack are the brass beads belt worn by T'boli women when dancing. Such would have made this a truly awesome represention of the T 'boli culture. The sound is authentic T'boli too but it could have been more "guttural" cause that's the way T'boli sing. I wonder who the choreographer was, I am sure he is well versed of the T'boli dances. Overall, amazing performance!

See the blond lady at the lower left side, she was like shaking her head in disbelief. That is how amazing this choir is. I remember, watching Ateneo's performance in Indonesia back when I was still a student. I was amazed then, and I am still in awe now. Thank you for showing such art and brilliant technique! Mabuhay from Indonesia. I'm always a fan. :)

Kaygandang Kultura at Sining na binigay ng Lumikha ng lahat. Just ignore those "people" that they own righteousness in our mixed culture. We must be happy as Filipinos and be proud that these culture are still preserved to have our own identity whatever is our tribe or dialect. People sometimes think they know better, only Him knows what we will become. ☝️🙏🏼🇵🇭

All ancient people including ancient Filipinos invaded and other Filipino tribes. Colonization and invasion of other country or peoples is common before. Wag masyadong feeling malinis.

Why? Are you expecting Westerners being consistent at being cruel to other ethnicities/nationalities all the time? Hmm? They already paid their mistakes in blood for many years. Funny seeing a bitter pseudo-nationalistic, anti-Western victimcrat can't still move on from Westerners who already learned a lot from their past mistakes. Ang ampalaya ay kailangang pahiran ng asin at ibabad sa tubig upang mabawasan ang pait.

The "loool". They are singing in tagalog accent. I want to hear this from a choir from mindanao. Definitely the Loool sound will come out as LULL. As in "Ti bwo lull". Where is the snap coming from? Who is doing the one-note snapping sound? Some choir groups I see that they are the ones making the one note snapping sound. But in this particular I do not see which ones are doing that. ohhhh, I like that girl 12th from the left (or 7th from the right)

Yes, no problem. I already talked to someone from Ateneo de MNL. I like that performance, but it should have been presented as an interpretation, not as a Tboli performance.
@MrAtamu12 жыл бұрын
My comment was may be too harsh (there is no editing function here, so I can't change it). As said, I like the performance, but the presentation is misleading, people could think those people are Tboli, etc., this is not the case. Would be interesting to know what the Tboli think about it ;)

I have already answered to that topic. Why not directly working with Tboli for that kind of performance, indigenous peoples have always been abused in a way or another, their lands invaded, their resources plundered, their culture denied or hijaked. May be time to better respect them. As said, I like the performance, but would even be greater with the original inspiring ethnic group : the Tboli people ;)
@MrAtamu12 жыл бұрын
I mean that this performance has nothing to do with the Tboli people, from all point of view; therefore it should be rather presented as a free adaptation/interpretation inspired from the Tboli culture, but not as a Tboli performance. Do not get me wrong, I like this creation, song, voices, this is very original indeed, but so far away from the Tboli culture. Perhaps the presentation of the video is misleading.

Ridiculous. It has nothing to do with the Tboli people. None of them is a Tboli, only Tagalog there. The language is not Tboli, the dance is not Tboli, the clothes are not, the song, etc, etc. This is a cultural hijacking !

Lmao it has been six years so whatever. But a guy from Cotabato already confirmed that it was essentially as authentic as one can save for some of their jewelry. What were you on about?
