Actually that song have english and filipino version. It is taught in school in our music class. I remember 2 stanza of it. It says: 1. Dont you go, oh dont you go to far Zamboanga. Will you ever miss your darling far away? Dont you go, oh dont you go if you will leave me. How can I without you stay? 2. Oh weep not my dear Paloma. Oh weep not for i'll return. Oh weep not my little darling. I shall remember and I shall yearn!.

It was written by a Spanish soldier who fell in love with a Zamboangueña. Perhaps when Americans came and the Spanish soldiers are cast away.

[Edited & Commented again or Reposted] ✌🏼😊🇵🇭 I don't know and I am not sure with this version you watched, listened and reacted to, maybe it's the original song or version with the original lyrics, but what I know, learned and grew up with here in Zamboanga City is this version of "No te Vayas de Zamboanga" by, from, sung and popularized by the legend or legendary and classic Zamboangueño and Chavacano band or group of Major Chords: Letras o Liricos/Maga Letra o maga Lirico: No te vayas, no te vayas de Zamboanga Que me puedes, que me puedes olvidar No te vayas, no te vayas, no me dejes Porque sin ti, no puedo estar No llores, paloma mía No llores, que volveré No llores que cuando llegue Paloma mía, te escribiré Con una pluma de ave Con un pedazo de papel Con la sangre de mis venas Paloma mía, te escribiré [Por favor repeti/repiti tres veces mas/pa/pa mas/mas pa]

✌🏼😊🇵🇭 This Spanish or Filipino/Philippine Spanish folk song is usually sung and played in Zamboanga City, among other places and areas in the Philippines, especially during some special occasions, observances, events, holidays or fiestas/festivals such as Dia de Zamboanga on February 26, Dia de o de la Fundacion de Chavacano o de Lenguaje Chavacano on June 23 and during Fiesta Pilar or Zamboanga Hermosa Festival on any day of the month of October or exactly on the week (the days before, during and after) or on the exact day of October 12. It's like one of our Zamboangueño folk songs as belonging to the Zamboangueño ethnic or ethnolinguistic group, nation or community and as native, first, main and/or primary language users and speakers of Chavacano/Chabacano, especially and specifically the dialect, variant or variety of Chavacano de Zamboanga or Zamboangueño Chavacano. It is almost like a must-learn or at least must-know and must-recognize or must-identify song or folk song by Chavacano-speaking and Chavacano-using Zamboangueños among Chavacano-speaking and Chavacano-using Zamboangueño clans and families in and from Zamboanga City for our Zamboangueño identity, among other Zamboangueño and Chavacano songs and other folk songs, classic songs, pop songs, etc. It is one of our "folk" songs among other Chavacano/Chabacano (Chavacano de Zamboanga or Zamboangueño Chavacano) and Spanish or Philippine/Filipino Spanish as well as other Mexican and European/Iberian/Castilian Spanish "folk" songs here in Zamboanga City like "Zamboanga Hermosa" (our beloved Zamboanga City Hymn/Anthem), "Chavacano (Un Poquito Español)", "Vamos a/na Zamboanga", "El Gallina Capituda", "El Maldito Raton", "El Aire de Zamboanga", "Princesita Zamboangueña", "Mientras Que Yo Ta Vivi", "Mi Ciudad de Zamboanga (De Antes Alcaldesa y Nana/Madre de Ciudad de Zamboanga, Maria Clara Rafols Lorenzo Lobregat)", "El Casa de Nipa", "La Cucaracha/Cucuracha", "De Colores" (especialmente la versión de Joan Báez pero con pronunciación chavacano de la letra o letra dígrafo "ll" [élle/é-lie/é-lye/él-ie/él-ye]) [for Mañanita or Early Morning singing and house/home/residence visit on someone's birthday], "Niño Bonito, Niño Jesus" (which is also a Christmas song or carol/caroling song), "Sabor a Mi", "Bésame Mucho", "Quizás, quizás, quizás", "Historia de un Amor", "Que Bonito Queda Na Monte", "El Maga Maya", "Mi Diutay/Jutay Escoba", "Malo Mucho Visio... Ta Mori Temprano", "Yo Hinde Casa Una Dalaga de Ciudad...Mas Bueno Casa de Monte", "Paseo de Amigos", etc., which mostly are from, sung and by Los Panchos from Mexico and from, sung, by or popularized by the legend or legendary and classic Zamboangueño and Chavacano music and singing band or group of Major Chords.
