Probably won’t for a while. Ring is like Kleenex or Chapstick at this point. When a general/uninformed consumer wants to buy a video doorbell or security camera, they instantly gravitate to Ring because they’ve know the brand. Ring knows this which is why they lean towards profit friendly features (subscription service) vs. consumer friendly features.

Love these tests. So in depth. A good additional tests would be testing detection at night while wearing all black and in the two person test wear the same clothes in one test and than bright and one dark to see if color effects who it follows at all

I tried out a Ring floodlight cam plus for about 2 weeks, it worked alright, got quite a few false motion notifications. I switched to this and it's been fantastic, I live on 1.5 acres and my house is pretty centered on the property and these lights cover a lot of ground. The only gripe I have with this product is that there is no timeline feature on the app to quickly scrub through clips, you have to go through each clip. It's not a deal breaker since the motion detection on these is pretty good, but it would be nice to have.

I like Ring, but they have nothing to compete with this. For at least one location at my home, this camera will solve 2 application issues. @@LifeHackster I just bought 3 of these cameras instead of 5 Ring floodlight cameras. Traditional floodlight cameras only look in one direction, leaving the other areas unprotected. These guys are real game-changers.

Great overview! I’m not sure why Eufy settled for the nest warning in the manual for wall installation. Maybe they could have included a curved plastic hood to snap on to keep birds out.

Holy smokes! What an innovative product! Just when you think the bar couldn't get higher, Eufy moved the bar. Just one question, if there is movement at night behind the floodlights, do the infrared lights turn on to show the image? I'm assuming they do and then switch when the subject comes into the light. The other manufacturers better pay attention to this and try to keep up. Thanks again for all of your hard work!

The infrareds which I'm assuming on all 4 sides of the camera turns on automatically at night...so you will still get detected like in the start of the night footage in my video. When the camera turns to where the lights are, it turns to full color. Thanks.

I think eufy has a great potential for fully integrated security system. But they should work hard and integrate their all standalone cameras to homebase. It would be very great.

Im gonna say this is prolly one of the best newest Security camera to date without spending the big bucks on Dauhua and Hikvision Pro set ups.. That tracking works very well and anyone trying to rob you will notice and be freaked out.. Eufy is starting to become the head of the pack in a sea of hum drum Home Security. I bought the Solocam E40 and have it mounted over my shed and has no issues with Wifi... Ring,. and other brands would have horrible Wifi at that distance.. also its a new product which will get updates in future.. I wanna see a long term review of this PTZ.. lets see how it holds up to hot weather, rain ,snow, hail squirrels and birds.. But im gonna say it.. this is the Best new 2021 Security camera I have seen

Actually, the neat thing about this camera is that you will not really see where the camera is pointing at. Most people will automatically assume that the camera is facing the same way as the floodlights and they don't realize that the camera will follow them even if they are behind the lights.

Better than I expected. I’m really puzzled at the small built in storage though. A 32gb microSD card is dirt cheap and I’d bet in bulk they are hardly a $1. I think the image compression is why the license plate test wasn’t clearer. I feel the glow of the lights at night are hurting the camera image a bit. Gives a strange glow to the upper part of the video. Still a solid offering and Eufy is doing a good job on being creative. Just hope they can integrate their products to work with each other to make a cohesive system. Ring is still crushing every company there.

Yes, the compression they use just have a lot of artifacting and it is more apparent when the camera is moving/panning.

Thank you for this timely review. Too much garage and car theft in neighborhood so this 72 year old lady wants cameras and floodlight, but I'm becoming overwhelmed by the different cameras. I live in a Dallas neighborhood and neighbors' homes close to mine. I'm thinking of getting this new Pro with 3 floodlights to survey backyard. I think I need 3 more simple cameras for the sides of house and our back gate. Does that make sense? If so, which 3 cameras do you suggest for me. Or, do I buy 2 of the Pro for the best coverage? I'm sorry to bother you with this but I can't seem to find anyone doing a video for non-techie people like me explaining best placement of cameras or if I need to become "fluent" in Apple or Google assistants or... Should I toss in the towel and sign up for an expensive security service? Thank you for any help or referrals you can supply.

The only thing about this pan and tilt which I might need to address it future videos is that because it can rotate 360 degrees is your neighbors privacy especially as you mentioned your neighbors are close by. You can always get a regular static floodlight cam or any WiFi camera so that you can control where you cameras are facing.

Video storage is 8GB EMMC memory built in on the camera. It records only when it detects motion. It turns to color recording at night when the lights are ON.

Yes to internet connection. The camera has internal EMMC storage and not micro SD card and it is encrypted on the storage itself and the only way to download footage is from the app which is mp4.

It will only record to its internal 8GB memory, cloud recording (paid option monthly) or NAS/RTSP. IT cannot record to the home base at this time.
