Thank you so much for your comparison. I was looking at both options but I decided to go with the C31. The video looked better on the single camera not sure if it was because the image was bigger because the bottom part wasn’t shown as there is no bottom camera. Nice legs btw 🥵

Very good video, thanks for making it. I went with the C31 in the end (currently have a RING), as we have CCTV already and the 2nd camera isn’t really required for the packages on the E340. Also it’s the newer product. Oh and it was £35 cheaper at the moment.

Thank you for the great details! I currently have the basic doorbell and love it, but although I have it set to capture all motions, I don’t get wild animals (even something as big as a bear) walking in front of my door. I can’t find much documentation about it…think an upgrade would correct that? Thank you!

@ the basic one. All I need, I charge like every 3 months depending on use. Battery hasn’t shown much ware. A really solid product. When the time comes to replace it, I will most likely upgrade. It’s still going strong so no reason to upgrade now.

If you rename the C31 to "front door" in eufy app, then add to alexa, alexa will say, "theres someone at the front door"

As I said in the video... I did exactly this and it does not work mate, the names show up correctly in the Alexa app but she still reads out the model number! lol

Confirmed mate! Alexa can stream video if you have a model with a display, otherwise yes just ring.

Hello mate, my elderly neighbours' car got broken into last week. They want a camera or doorbell for security, but they don't have WiFi. Can you recommend a good camera or doorbell. I'm not sure what their budget is. Their car is about 8 metres from the house .

I've read that if you hard wire it to your existing doorbell wiring it can't or won't be able to use it with the 340 homebase; is thus correct? Can the homebase only be used if you set it up for wireless?

I don't see why that would be the case mate, it's just taking power from your existing wiring rather than battery only.

Just installed the E340. Found it to utter rubbish it misses so much activity. Set to human and motion with activity zones. When it records it can record for anywhere between 7 secs to 35. Probably going to bin it. Installed the S340 sameday and as equally poor at triggering and recording.

You need to set it to "Optimal Surveillance" for best results but yes I agree not all events are triggered as a result of using PIR's for battery saving, I cover this in more detail in my review of the cameras.

@karlgoslingstechreviews it is on optimal surveillance. An example this morning. The milkman brought a pint of milk to the front door. E340 Pointing down the driveway missed him totally, door camera missed him on approach. Door camera caught him for 7 seconds walking away. E340 looking down the drive totally missed him walk away. I've yet to have both cameras pick anything up at the same despite them looking in the same area from different angles. I will look at your other videos.

Hi Karl can you recommend a microSD card after your review I’ve purchased eufy 1080p door bell and WiFi chime. The card is for the chime I have no idea what size to get.

Please advise response time of receiving a ring notification on both devices. I heard the e340 was slow in providing notifications

If you're at home on WiFi then only a few seconds, if you are out and about on mobile data then that time is going to vary of course.

My E340 can be so slow in giving notifications that it sometimes takes 30 seconds to work, and by that time whatever it was has gone.

You can mount it any orientation you like but the video will also rotate with it. It does come with an angle mount as shown.

You need a WiFi connection for the door bells otherwise they would have no internet if you were away from home with your phone.

@@liudakirnisenka2360 the doorbells NEED a WiFi connection at your home, if this is a 5G based router then yes it will work. But you cannot use your phone as a hot spot or when you leave the house the doorbells will have no internet connection.

Yes that's the point of hardwiring it mate. There's no real restrictions but the video/audio quality is what I do not like.

The battery makes them both quite big, but thats unavoidable if you want wireless without having to charge too often.
