I think Y'all are missing what he's saying. I take "we will not have peace until we have justice" to mean, there can be no peace without justice. Like, overall. Know what I mean? Look at the footage of him. Is there anything burning in that shot? He said he's there to march peacefully. We don't get to see if he participated in the riots or just marched peacefully, because this clip is the end of his story for us. Then we cut to things burning in a different location, with different people. Cops killing unarmed people in the street is not peace, and its not justice. People were chatting, chanting, and listening to music. There was also no curfew. The cops showed up in riot gear and started pepper spraying people, tear gassing people, and shooting people with rubber bullets. It is not fair that even peaceful protesters are getting hurt. People aren't letting the black community have a voice. I don't find that fair. The riots are happening because cops wont let people protest peacefully, and that is causing people to get angry and riot. I feel that in this situation the cops and the president are to blame for not dealing with the peaceful protesters in a better way. If they didn't want them protesting, then they have to suck it up because people are free to protest. The cops decided to use violence to stop the protests, I don't know what good they thought would come out of that. I am disgusted by the cops and the president for the way they are dealing with this situation. I understand that violence isn't the answer, but cops are hurting people and getting mad when they riot over it. People expect people to sit quiet when people in their community are getting hurt or being killed, but that's not how it works. People shouldn't have to sit quiet, they should be free to protest without getting hurt or arrested for it! I understand riots are bad, but they're caused by cops brutalizing peaceful protesters. The black community is angry, and they have a right to be angry.

Eugene OR is my home, born and raised. What happened to Floyd was wrong, this violent destructive behavior is even more wrong. This is not the path to make a positive change, would Floyd want to be honored this way? Non-violent resistance and passive protesting will make more ripples in the ocean of racism and inequality. Two wrongs will never make a right. I am ashamed to see the people I have rubbed elbows with for so long taking this path. We can do so much better, and accomplish more good by choosing the better path.
