well, I don't know what to say,, u guys are really entertaining while u giving tips 'how to', it makes people easier to understand n' less complicated for those who willing to learn this beat. I play that 'kinda' beat almost in 3 years but still couldnt get the key right to make another variations but thanks to u guys now I have a better understanding about that shift n' leads,, anyway I use the same taping method to remembering all of those drumm sequence everytime we creating a new songs n' yeah usually I ends up exactly like u on the train, lol. I played drum for a local hardcore band, thanks to u guys once again I got a new idea of drumming for our next songs. it is a good channel, really helpful, keep it up the good jobs. thanks

Quick mafs: it's actually the least common multiple (math term, abbreviated LCM) that determines the period of repetition. For example the least common multiple of 3 and 4 is 12, but so is 6 and 4 and 3 and 4. If you have 3/8 and 4/8 pattern they repeat after 12/8, in which the 3/8 gets played 4 times (3/8x4=12/8) and the 4/8 gets played 3x (4/8x3=12/8). Also, MESHUGGAH 1 1 000 1 1 0000000. Good vid just thought I would add in some of my perspective.

Eugene Ryabchenko That's great man, it's easy to show it but to explain and teach in detail for almost 20 minutes is a real challenge. I've been drumming almost year but I think I'm ready to start practicing these more than I have been. For a while I've been working on my double bass speed (slow but steady increases) by following your other tutorial so this will be something new to practice. Thanks again for the great video, it's appreciated for drummers like myself. How long have you played for and about how long did it take for you to get where you could play difficult metal songs?

This is exactly what i was looking for,the mentality behind polyrhythms.Can you please show how we can take this idea and apply it on triplets?The song at the end (Meshuggah - Dancers To A Discordant System) uses polyrhythmic 8th note triplets,i cant figure out how many triplets the loop has while in 4/4.I think the starting riff is something like an 21 eighth note triplet phrase inside 4/4.Can you please make a lesson about polyrhythmic triplets?Many thanks and keep it up,you are a beast!!

Now that is a really dangerous topic :D I don't think there is an exact method to do that. Some people will just say: "well I just feel it when I write music" and then you can't argue with that :D I am not good at "composing theory". That's my brother's speciality.

Singing and couting!!! YES it may sound stupid, but this is the key. Makes learning so much easier... That's what you get in a university for jazz-polyrythms. Only those damn triplets on polyrythmic let my head smoke like crazy. XD
@Heretix1989
@Heretix1989 9 жыл бұрын
+Eugene Ryabchenko Hah, nah i meant the stuff i learn there looks quite similar. Pure math if you ask me... Only that jazz is based on mostly swing and triplets, in that case is a polyrythmic change maybe not that complex, but therefore harder to actually play it. Yeah, at 13:45 there is a slight note of what i mean. Try to imagine a triplet swing-ride like: I..I.II..I.II..I.II etc. to that pattern, and then turnaround snare and kick while the ride remains the same. Only that there are also more complicatend snare or kick patterns to play also... well, there are NEVER any borders in playing drums! =)
