EULAR School of Rheumatology: The GALS Screen (Gait, Arms, Legs, Spine)

The GALS (G=gait, A=arms, L=legs, S=spine) is a validated screen for quick but efficient assessment of a person's musculoskeletal system and for their ability to undertake activities of daily living. On its own, the GALS screen often provides sufficient information to allow a diagnosis of prevalent locomotor disorders. It is particularly useful for students when they are first learning their musculoskeletal examination skills.
