Beautifully refreshing dance track that never lost its allure. Sounds just as fresh today as it did back in 1978! The mark of a true classic!

When I was a DJ back in the 70's I would play this as my.last record every night, it became a tradition. When people heard thst intro they all got up and danced! What a awesome track. A dance floor burner.

The Royalty southgate,North London Friday night 1978...When this came on people went crazy,41 years ago and still sounding as good now as then..Life is memories!!!
@mcbrion19515 жыл бұрын
Right?!? Same in San Francisco. People RAN to the dance floor when the dj segued into it from the previous song. Usually, you could hear the guitar intro of the song, and the crowd would - in about 8 beats - recognize the song and just yell/roar all at the same time, in a way people most distinctly do not do now. It was a moment when the entire "tribe" came together as one. Everyone would laugh after the "roar" and in that one moment, we'd all look at each other and just laugh at how great it all was!

WBLS in NYC used to play this so often i thought it was a station promo instrumental! A great hustle tune with a samba inflection it was often played at Leds Mouches in NYC where I worked in the summer of 1978. Julio Superstarr and Francois Kevorkian spun. This was the 'International' music of its time. disco opened ears to a world of dance. Love to all!

It's 1978 and Disco is in full bloom music is coming from all over the world from artists you wouldn't expect . This was only heard in the night clubs and in Boston the best club was Boston Boston the Disco simply because they had the best DJ Jeff Tilton and the best sound system by far . When I heard this gem there I loved it and went out and bought it .(still have it).

Happy birthday to Brazillian producer & artist Eumir Deodato, as he celebrates his 73rd birthday today, this is one of biggest club dancefloor tracks he hit us with this Jazz Funker back in 1978, which put him on that pedestal as top class act, he later went on to procuce Kool & the Gang
@Wally-H7 жыл бұрын
Maybe it established him on the late-70s disco scene but to say it 'put him on that pedestal as a top class act' is totally incorrect. Deodato had already been a huge name for several years. You need to listen to Super Strut, Skyscrapers, September 13th & his biggest hit ever, Also Sprach Zarathustra (more recently famous as the theme to Space Odyssey which actually came out originally in 1973). Deodato's funky music was right on point in the early 70's and this was merely the same conversion to the later disco sound that so many other jazz artists made.

For a while, THE killer song of 1978. People would trample you to get to the dance floor as soon as they hear the beginning bars when the dj segued into this song. EVERYONE loved this song. Percolating as hell, syncopation to die for. Sounds like a fast song (bpm-wise), but its actually not that fast at all. It's just got that band playing to - pardon the expression - Beat The Band. And they did!!!!
